Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits
Checking to see if you have any of the kits available with original face?

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits
Good morning,
I am currently getting parts together to make more conversion kits. They sell rather quick when I have them. I will be posting when I have a few kits ready to sell. Thank you all for the interest. Tom |
Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits
My son has a 69 with gauges already in it. So, as I am kinda dumb on this stuff, is this something where he can use his already existing gauge and just convert it to be useable with a new style alternator? We redid all the wiring with AAW, and the new higher amp alternator is not able to be used on the gauge on the cluster. I hope this makes sense. RR

@ Redrocker ;
These REPLACE the original ammeter and give you better information and can be used with any alternator . No down side here as the look original . |

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits
I apologize for being stupid up front, but my son has a 69 and is looking to keep the dash stock looking. What is the cost for your setup with a stock looking gauge? Again, sorry for being slow, but I saw a couple of prices there and want to make sure I understand.

The entire point on forums like this is to help others.... I'm an old Journeyman Mechanic who worked on these when new but there's still so much I don't know so I come here first to ask what to do, how and why . Many different ways to skin a cat . When you have some old battered klunker I usually know how to resurrect it and make it run well even when it has low compression etc. |

I am waiting on some parts. I have about a dozen people waiting and it seems busier than normal lately. I am generating a list and will gladly put you on it. Thank you. I hope these are not to far out but have limited control. Tom |

As stated in Post # 407 I've had one of these in my truck for quite a while now and it functoned as it should. This summer when started using the truck the gauge would show 3/4 of the way across and for the last while pegs right over to the right and soon as you start the truck and stays there as long as truck is running. When the truck is shut off it parks just slightly above the rest stop. I see Tom hasnt posted for about a year now but postng here in case someone else has run into this and maybe has a solution. I have no electrical issues with the truck.

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits
Mine did the same thing. Not sure why happened. I bench tested it with a battery and it does the same thing. Disconnected it and haven't done anything with it yet.
