Just read through your build. Nice burb! Can't wait to see it in July. Any updates?

I got it running and just need exhaust. I also need to get my wheels powdercoated and buy tires. Trying to get it ready for Goodguys on May 16-18, but I'm pretty much out of money.

I gotta say that this is going to be one sweet Burb when you do get it all together though!

Mandi and I finished covering the front bench seat today. I finished installing the Sony Ipod digital link that I'm using in place of a radio. I've cranked it once before, but I had two volunteers to crank it again. Watch below:

Re: Project Patina Burb

Hey guys,

I'm looking for some advice on tires and what sizes to run. I have 20x8's up front and 20x9's in the rear. I don't want rubber bands. Any suggestions?

Re: Project Patina Burb

I would stick with a 40 series tire up front.
245/40.
Maybe a 255/45 or 275/40 on the back.

Thank Keith, between you and Russ I think I got it figured out.

It's at the exhaust shop and I hope to get it back today.

Re: Project Patina Burb

I'm having an issue with my interior door handles. I've made a post about it, but nobody has answered it. I bought all new (3) interior door latch assemblies and installed them. The problem is that I have about 7 old interior door handles laying around and NONE of them go all the way up on the assemblies. It's not a diameter issue because they sit on there fine and will open the door. The problem is that they don't go far enough back to install the clip. I thought about buying an aftermarket door handle to see if they are deeper. Any thoughts?

Re: Project Patina Burb

Picking it up at the exhaust shop tomorrow.

Any help with the above issue is still appreciated.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Can you cut off some of the length of splined shaft to allow the handle to go on far enough so the clip catches ?

Re: Project Patina Burb

I did grind a little on one of them, but it didn't change it at all.

Re: Project Patina Burb

What interior door handle latch mechanisms did you buy and what door panels are you using?
72 has a longer shaft to work with the thicker 72 only plastic door panels.

Re: Project Patina Burb

67-71's. It's not a shaft issue. It seems to be the thickness of the gear.

Back from the exhaust shop. It's got a battery issue all of a sudden. My buddy and I sanded on it for awhile today. Decided I wanted the white to show to show more.

Re: Project Patina Burb

Me too, me and my buddy got the clips figured out yesterday. Once we get the holes drilled I can get them powdercoated and get them on rubber.

Re: Project Patina Burb

I got the brakes figured out. I didn't have a lot of pedal and I guess I got projects confused because I swore that I changed everything on the rear brakes-drums turned, spring kit, wheel cylinders, and shoes. Then I took the rear passenger side drum off and the wheel cylinder had leaked so bad that it had melted all the brake pad material off of the shoes. All the material had collected at the bottom of the drum next to the adjuster. So I had the drums turned changed the wheel cylinder and put new shoes and a new spring kit on the rear of it.

I'm having two issues with no luck. One is with the alternator. I'm not getting anything off the back of it when I test it. Took it off and had it tested, but it tested good. Not sure what the issue is with it.

Also I have no power steering at all. I'm not sure if there is a check valve where the pressure hose connects to the pump. I bought the same fitting that everyone else used so that I could use the original pressure hose.

Getting closer.
