Looks good for your first door. Perhaps a little tighter on the fabric would be my only suggestion?

that looks pretty good . the doorcovers on the square bodies look verry plain and eeeh whell square there isnt a lot of shape in them and im realy looking for idea's to make mine look better .
i been thinking about having something like an armrest flow intoo the dash but that still leaves a lot of flat space below it
the tribal thing is looking good maibe it would be nice to have a doorspeakergrille that has the same shapes in it but in a circle and either cover it in the same material or leave it brushed aluminium

Thanks! The good thing about it is it's a single din, and the screen can tilt fairly far upwards and I can see it very well, until its in drive, that darn shifter, but hey, not suppose to be lookin at anything else while driving right? ;)

Speaking of masterpieces! When are we getting updates on yours? :D

Re: 1987 Chevy Silverado project

maibe you can put the screen in a floor consolle later on that way you can get it away from the shifter and tilted more toward the driver.
check the local law on those screens like for watching video , over here we need to put a contact on the handbrake or the Parkpossition of the shifter to be able to watch video on the driverside screen to be legal this rule has been made to prevent the driver from watching the screen while driving and that kindah makes sence , theres allso a law here thats prevent us from programming the satnav or calling without handsfree while driving (its realy busy on the roads here and we mostly drive stickshift wish makes holding a phone and steeringwheel a bit hard during shifting )

im trying to find some program and hardware to be able to use two of those screens instead of the normal gauges behind some darkened plexi and have a vertical dock for a closed but running laptop between the seat to run all of that stuff on either linux or windows
right now i have a mini laptop that runs linux of a memorycard so that whont crash if i hit a bump in the road it would be nice to run everything of that

the idea is to be able to move the gauges across the screens where i want and see them and be able to change the way they look and run a navigation and a radio of a touchscreen on the side maibe i can even operate the airco and heater by touchscreen

there some of those programs to tune the ecu of an electronic injection and stuff are getting nice gauges lately but there not made to run continually
theres a small digital speedgauge that runs of satnav wish could be tied intoo this bigger system i want
most other gauges are either ohm meters or voltmeters someone just need to make the analog digital connection for the tankfloat temperature and pressuregaugesenders to get them to work in a digital world of linux or windows
someone thats good in digital desighning and programming should be able to make sumtin like this work and look good , the industry seems to be working on sumtin like this too as there a couple of high end cars and some smaller add on things for dieseltrucks and cars
(pioneer or sony had a radio/navigationsystem that had nice cauges but they stopped making them )

I'll be updating soon! Supposed to be back from paint tomorrow sometime.

Scored some NOS inner fender wells, fenders and two NOS doors (was having trouble with driver door). My fenders and inners were repops and didn't line up very well.

Still working!

got me some goodies, brand new McGaughys spindles and slightly used springs, got a great deal on them! Time to rebuild the front end! Doing new pitman arm, tierods, all bushings brakes and rotors, and painting everything, going to be a long day, but worth it!

You gonna flip the rear then too? Cant wait to see it dropped. It will really look good low over the 338s.

texasfunk 05-26-2010 12:19 AM

Re: 1987 Chevy Silverado project

yes sir! But I think the flip is going to drop it a lot from what its currently at..may adjust, I'm afraid the front wheels are gunna rub turning too, approx drop is going to be 5-6 inches frm stock..and tires up front are 275/50/20's, but I agree, will look sick with these wheels!

Agreed!

truck looks sick, interior turned out really nice too! but your truck needs to be more intimate with the asphalt.
