What I love most about your build is the fact you stayed with factory seats. Most builds just replace with later truck seats and I just hate it.

You got my vote too, but the blue K5 was a close 2nd for me

I love this burb! If you every seriously consider selling it please give me a chance to visit with you on the subject! No I am not kidding! Great job.

I hope to see it in person some day. Will you be at the upcoming Dallas Goodguys show in March?

Hey thanks for the compliment !!! I have a friend that lives in Katy, Jay Gillentine. We not gonna make it to March GGs but we make Pate swap meet in April. My love is finding them, having a vision then putting them back on the road. Over time I fall out of love with them, let them go then start another. I'm still in love with the burb right now but I've been having visions lately

Brother, you better start prioritizing the takers 'cuz there's going to be a bunch of them if you ever decide to let it go.

I don't know Jay. Does he have any classics? I really like owning and driving them way more than building! I too have a 64 suburban that we just purchased that is just a shell. No engine or trans or seats. Can't wait to drive it someday in the future. We have listed our 72 burb on a couple of sites including this one to fund the 64 project. My vision is almost the same as your completed one.

Thanks for leading the way and finishing yours, that inspired me to get one.

Re: 66 suburban build

Thanks for the info!
Are you happy with it?
What options did you order?
Is there Jute backing on the carpet? I already have a rubberized sound-deadener everywhere, but I want this to be silent!
The fact that you can order matching floor-mats & carpet for the rear cab-wall are a bonus!
Let me know your thoughts for a pick-up!

I just ordered truck carpet with high hump and carpet by the yard to lay in back. There is only padding under your feet not the hump. I insulated my floor,roof,1/4 panels and inside doors with double bubble from Lowes plus undercoated the bottom. It's so well insulated I can't here the exhaust from inside. Thanks hope some of this helps..

Getting it ready for cruise season. Going to do some upgrades soon. Headers/new exhaust, ac charge and some new and improved shocks. I'll post the progress.

I am normally with the LA Classic Trucks, mostly at Cruise Central in the back under the trees. Friday we will be in Ocean Springs, hopefully on the main drag under the trees.

Nice Burb. One of my favorites!!

I like how you did the interior. Do you know of anybody with the original seats they want to get rid of?
