Nice job installing the carpet too. Mine looks like a wrinkle bomb and not even close to as smooth as yours.

I installed a bench seat I got cheap but it's in excel lane condition. I also cleaned up my differential and started the new yukon gear posi carrier install with a 4.10 gear... With a 4 speed it'll be really fun behind that 454....

Finished the restoration on the seat. Wow, now I know why the upholstery shops get the money they do for this type of work....it was not easy.

Ran de-greaser and metal prep through my $50 Craigslist gas tank. Going to put POR-15 fuel tank sealer through it tomorrow morning.
And after two days of drilling and hammering and pressing and *****ing and cussing and even torching the damn thing, I finally gave up on trying to get those damn roll pins out of the door hinges. |

Not exactly a truck progress post but I painted up a new body for my RC car and had to try out of my favorite factory paint combos. Wish my pickup looked this good but this totally got me motivated to get moving on mine.

Very expensive hobby!
But the more fun they are, the more expensive the hobby! These are a few I have owned (I have had numerous others, but these 2 were some of my favorites); http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...0107-12-31.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...C/DSC03881.jpg This is the only one I have left, down sized to finance other hobbies! http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0de3b045.jpg |
Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Fixed a transmission cooler leak yesterday. Red drips in the snow...?? Where is that from??!! Tightened up the clamps and it seems to have stopped. Have some small current draw I'm attempting to track down. The battery will drain after about 4 days of no driving. Not sure what it is that is draining that battery. I'll find it, it can't hide forever.

The Rat Ramp!
Yesterday and today I worked on the rat ramp for a few hrs since the temps where nice. I got the heater all cleaned out and all 3 speeds of the fan working nicely! The ash tray was stuck and I had a heck of a time getting it out but once out I got the bearings cleaned up and greased up she is sliding in & out nicly now! I had installed the new radiator about a month ago so I got the over flow tank installed yesterday as well. I swapped steering wheel out and took the master cylinder loose for the booster install. Have to order a new rod for it. The old 67 horn cap cleaned up pretty nice. A friend came by yesterday as I was working on it and said you know I have a few parts stashed for these old trucks, so I asked what he had...factory tilt wheel new dash cover RED and a seat cover! So in a few weeks I'm getting it all for the RAT! I think I'll even order the digital gauges for it later on after we get over Christmas. http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/OhUAAO...yu/s-l1600.jpg:chevy: |

Just doing a lot of fitting and mock up on the new bed sills, front, and wood kit... Lots and lots to do yet. The above frame rear sway bar gets in the way so that needs to be addressed and 2 holes in the new front dont match up with the holes in the sides on the driver side as well, buts no biggie since the sides still need lots of work as you can see. Lots of trouble trying to save the sides...
