Nice unmolested 71 in a unusual color combination (Unless you live in Eugene OR). $5995 Not mine but I can tell it was once owned by someone who raced cars.

https://eugene.craigslist.org/cto/d/...109454086.html

This ad is for my 1971 Chevrolet Chevy C10 (1/2 ton) 2 Wheel Drive truck. It is complete. Everything you need to restore this beauty is here. If you are an University of Oregon (Duck) fan, the colors are quite cool too - green on the bottom and yellow on the cab. Minimal, mostly surface rust. This is also a factory air conditioning truck too (not currently working). Lots of recent carburetor work and engine adjustments. It runs and drives great. Solid 350 motor. I just do not have the time of space for this project right now. The body has some small dents here and there but is mostly straight. All panels look great.

On Saturday, 04.18.2020, I put on a brand new set of Hankook, Optimo H724 - P235/75R15 Tires (literally brand new). They only have about 5 miles on them at this point. In addition, I have two really straight fenders that fit this truck (sitting in my garage) that I will throw in too (see pics). I would love to see this truck go to somewhat that was going to take care of it and restore it. Odometer says 54,541. I have the clean title in my hand. $5,995 or best offer. I would also be open to cash and partial trade. Please call, text, or email with questions or to arrange a time to come and get it.

The ever controversial chop top truck. Get yours today, (not from me) 70 with lots of modifications $13500. Which isn't a bad price. It would be a lot cheaper to restore this one than most others available now for the same money.

Nice unmolested truck. Uncut dash goes a long way in my book. Would be a great resto candidate.

But ah, the days of being able to pick options one at a time - why A/C and not power steering/brakes is a mystery to me. Makes for an interesting hobby though.

Someone destroyed a perfectly good Longhorn

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I think destroyed is a little harsh. (Don't get me wrong I don't approve, but we've all seen worse things done to trucks we love) I don't believe that would be too difficult to save if the truck is as rust free as it appears. Or for that price it wouldn't be a bad choice for a short box conversion.

Killer Bee 04-22-2020 10:31 PM

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

agree, I've seen a lot more egregious modifications rendering trucks useless for hauling much more than a small bag of groceries

this is clever and functional for a truck to do what trucks do.. possibly served their family's purpose for years..

things like this were done years before auto manufacturers made them available..

also agree it would likely be reversible for not too much investment and possibly harvest some good extra parts ;)

I agree. I don't find that modification as ugly as the chop top in post #7887. Also agree that Longhorn is screaming for someone to buy it and shorten it since it has already been modified. I'd love to but my time and budget aren't hardly handling one project.

This is me eating crow...I didn't even think about what a great SWB oportunity this truck would be. Shame on me! Actually it sounds like the motor has been properly warmed over too... bonus!

I second that! Chopped classic trucks make me wonder "who thought that was a good idea?"

Congratulations on your new truck! It sure does look like a clean truck for that asking price. What route do you think you'll go? SWB conversion? Lonhorn restoration? Perhaps just fix'r up and have a one of a kind?

We had a Cushman Tote Goat which was a 2 wheel cycle with a real gearbox. We had fun climbing hills on our 10 acre ranch when I was a kid. Thing really hauled but but it was a bit scary shifting the gears as they were down behind your seat if I remember. Had a big single cylinder 4 stroke engine. https://cdn.aspentimes.com/wp-conten...07299983AR.jpg

I know some are going to vehemently not agree with me here, but with all the time, money, and effort it takes to get a truck ready for paint why canary yellow? I have just never been a fan of that color.

Otherwise that appears to be a nice truck that might be worth the asking price.
