Re: bagged burb project..

from here i will be adding drop spindles and shortening the cups to put the front cross member about 2 inches from the ground. once that is established i will notch and fit rear sheet metal accordingly. i won't be body dropping, but i plan to trim an inch off the body mounts to close the gap between the frame and body (rubber strips will separate the 2). the rockers should be about 3inches from the ground.

The burban won't drag, and i don't believe in reverse rake (ass lower than the front)... oh yea i found some 22's that should look nice..i just need to save up some coin...taxes sucked this year..anyways until we meet again..

Re: bagged burb project..

well, spent the weekend under my tahoe instead of the suburban. since we have it rolling we've been getting everything else up to date on maintenance (the shop has had oil, brakes, bearings, tire rotations, etc done on like 4 cars in the last week). I'm waiting on my brother to come home and get his truck caught up before diving into the sub again...impatiently waiting BTW.

However, i got some 2in shackles put on dad's 94 suburban today... it's 2/2 drop on it now. He's had the shackles for a long time, but a week after sitting next to my burb he wanted them on... :)

Hey... still alive, but bombed with weddings and work lately. I was able to purchase some drop spindles last week.. 2 inchers from DJM.. not much but still an update.

1st Truck/car show is in!!! Lay'd Out @ the Park in Morristown, TN was a success. I saw a lot great trucks and found some inspiration. The sunburn i got is also a great excuse to hide in the garage for a while. Picked up some wheel tubs for the rear there, too... hopefully progress will start real soon.

Saw these over the weekend, plus a couple box suburbans laying frame/rocker. The orange sub has been in a few mags this year and gets in the weeds. However, we passed him on I-75 somewhere in kentucky...nice to see a driver. The white one is a hauler, but i thought it looked cool (ride height of mine with 22's i hope).

welp...worked on the latest burb today. pulled out the speaker junk and cleaned it up all over. It could use another good cleaning, but one day at a time. The pictures suck, but dad's 53 panel had me parked in...

heres the old boxes for 4 15s and some amps (forgot to take a shot before i started, sorry i was about to put those heavy bastards back in). Also had wood covers that went from 2nd row to the barn doors to hide the air stuff. I plan to move the stuff from the notch and custom mount a 3rd row seat. I don't need or want subs, so i have plenty of room.

I also plan to put in faux floor even with the notched floor and hide the air stuff under it. new air compressors will be hidden in some sound barrier compartment but in the truck for winter driving...

That's a nice Suburban. It's even got leather. What about the air set-up?

Re: bagged burb project..

the seats aren't great and i'm not a fan of blue on blue, but luckily i have a nice gray leather interior from a 96 i can swap with.

The air setup is as follows:
8 - 1/2 valves; 2 - compressors 150 psi max (older off brand); 10 switches; 10 gal tank; 2600 bags all around; stock a-arms modded to lay out; bag on axle in the rear; notch welded in to lay gas tank

I plan to upgrade the compressors and use the ART a-arms i have. I will probably keep the 4-link on the back just dial it in. I also will add digital gauges and a digital controller since the only gauge is attached to the tank...i'll keep everyone posted on the changes :)

Re: bagged burb project..

well..bought some new tires and then found out my measurements were off by slightest of margins. picked up some 255/45/20 Goodyears for my wheels since i had two bad tires and i felt the other tires' side wall was too small. i took some measurements and visually every looked ok, i stayed with same width to avoid problems. FAIL...put the new tires on and they're about 1/8 an inch too wide to comfortably tuck in-order to layout.

i didn't mess with it too much tonight, but i'm guessing the shorter tire (255/35/20) were pulled inward more by the upper a-arms which cleared the fenders. A lesson in geometry, but all is not lost.

my dad works at a machine shop so depending on the amount of material on the back of wheel we might try to remove some to get clearance or worst case i can put the 2 'good' old tires back on front (kept all 4) and wait until i get new rims.... disappointed, but not defeated

got the new tires to fit the burb (forgot pics, sorry). i had to fix some alignment issues and cut some more of the fenders are out of the way, but i got them. the taller tires look great on the truck, ride better, and get the speedo to be accurate...i'll post some shots tomorrow.

I've been working on the inner fenders for the burb. I bought some tubs for the rear of my old truck, so i'm modding them to fit under the hood. I'm not chip foose, but i'm using cardboard to get the template before cutting up some nice tubs.

The driver's side will be a little more difficult (more stuff in the way), but hopefully the same template will apply. There are some wires and stuff that may require the back of inner fenders to be different... we'll see.
