maybe you can get a universal one for hot rods they are small. you will need air down here if you plan on driving it much.

I really dont use the air in any of my dads cars when I cruise them. thats why i chose no air. I will probably add air later on though, no heater or defrost, just air.

more line....been drilling and tapping holes like crazy. The airlines are basically done. The brake lines are 95%. The fuel lines are just started and run over the notch. Need to figure out how Im going to connect them to the tank and how I will finish them to the engine. the pics are confusing so bare with me.

I have moser axles that go to 5 on 5.5

so everyone run out to your nearest news stand and pickup the copy of superchevy with the baddd nova on the cover. Our wagon got a 4 page spread and this truck got a sentence in there, LOL.

but as some of you know we have a hurricane coming so we'll see what happens.

Vintage Air has one that will fit, but you may have to make a very short glove box.
I don't know if you can see this one but it is in a Speed 33 and has a brake/M/C AND A/C under the passenger side.

I should have an update wednesday. Im at school(LSU) right now but I go home for thanksgiving. Im planning to rip apart my t-56, cut it up, and when reassembled the shifter will be about 10" forward of where it is now.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

ok, this is freaky. you built the almost the exact truck i have been thinking up for my 49 forever. same color and everything. dont know what ls series motor that is, but i was gunna use an ls7, and same 6-speed tranny, bags and everything. weird....
love it though! looks awesome. u do really nice professional work.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

but ive since decided to keep my rust, so you dont have to worry bout havin a clone lol.

cajundragger 11-29-2008 12:16 AM

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

lol, yeah weird.

Im currently waist deep in modding my t56 for center shift and it sucks. Very bad.

And that is just a regular ls1, for now. But I thinking ~1.5 liters more displacement and twin hairdryers would make it move nicely. Not sure how crazy I want to go yet. either way for now its just an ls1, and I have a wild cam to put it in.

gettin back to work.

bolted the IAT in the air filter and it hit the TPS, so I worked on that tonight.

how it looked...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2267.jpg

inside view which raises the concern I had of drilling through that lip and not having the bit walk.

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2268.jpg

in the drill press..

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2269.jpg

shot of the hole and the bit I used..

back cut the lip...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2271.jpg

tapped

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2272.jpg

assembled

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2273.jpg

IAT and new blue plug...

very nice build you have there, nice and clean and i will agree with you on the color choice, it can be heck to spray, but a beautiful color, hardlines are ran real nice.

we had an s-10 in the shop that is a total so I took the PCM mount out of it.

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2275.jpg

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2276.jpg

air filter mounted...also see the steam line I ran in the water pump...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2279.jpg

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2281.jpg

fan controller...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2280.jpg

started to run the vacuum line for the booster...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2282.jpg

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2283.jpg

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2284.jpg

and started to section the dip stick...

cut...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2277.jpg

in pieces...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2278.jpg

I was going to weld it all back up and section the actual dip stick tonight when I got home but its like 1:20am and I want to go to sleep.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

looks good, I like the hard lines, Spal makes good stuff, I have their dual fans on my vette but they had troubles with the electronic controller. it had a high failure rate. they even quit selling it at one time. they were having it made by someone else. mine use a simple temp probe and a relay to turn them on like this

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/SPAL-F...NSOR,5350.html

if they are selling them again they might have the problem fixed. just wanted to give you a heads up.

well I picked mine up something like a year ago. We'll see...

pcm mounted...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2286.jpg

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2287.jpg

spot the battery...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2288.jpg

just a reg napa...no real power demands in this truck so I really dont feel a super duper optima or the like is worth it.

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2290.jpg

preweld fit of the dipstick tube...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2291.jpg

to shorten the actual dipstick I first drilled a new roll pin hole

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2293.jpg

then drove the tiny tiny roll pin out and took the handle off...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2292.jpg

trimmed it and reassembled...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2294.jpg

took like 7" out of it...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2296.jpg

whole thing...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2295.jpg

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy

took the water pump off and popped the fittings out...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2297.jpg

then tapped them for pipe thread so they can be plugged...

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...r/IMG_2298.jpg

that stuff and a few other things were all for today. Tomorrow the wiring that controls the engine will be finished. Which means Im waiting on a bunch of fittings that I ordered tonight and to tune my computer and she should run.
