your version of rough and a rustbelt version of rough is different, we'd kill to have your version of rough here :D
your truck would be advertised on craigslist as rust free, pristine survivor. well, except for that seat...

Yes it's been a while and I can't say I've done a lot since my last post. At least I have something to show to prove that I'm still making progress. She looked pretty ruff when I started with all the scratches and cracks but she looks great after a fresh paint job.

The wheel looks good. Looking forward to more progress pics.
Will you have to move the engine at all for this swap? Don't see many 4x4's done, pretty interesting.

Re: 4x4 48'

Thanks. I'm trying to get as much done before it gets too cold so I plan on having some progress in the next couple of months. The engine that's on it isn't staying. It's only there because I have no place to put it and I only want to borrow a cherry pick once. My plan is to get a newer v8 similar to what bluejeep did (if anyone wants to trade ;) ). The goal is to have a daily driver and winters get interesting so I thought why not when I came across the doner truck. The plan is to have it look like no other series 4x4 truck (not a fan of having them jacked in the air).

Did you just move to Des Moines? Those older pictures don't look like Iowa.

Well started working on my head liner again. It's looking good and I'm excited to get some storage (always need a place for your sun glasses)

Well after first attempt last weekend not working this weekend was successful and only took 15 minutes to put in the engine. it's amazing how easy it is when the can isn't in the way. Now onto the tranny tunnel.

Re: 4x4 48'

Is that a Loker shifter and what size?

trucktech 12-20-2014 09:10 PM

Re: 4x4 48'

It's an American shifter. I didn't want to push a button every time I move the shifter that's why I went with this one.

Thanks for the info. I just looked them up and that dual action shifter looks like a very nice unit.
