That's going to be one hell of a good looking truck when you're done! A lot of work, but well worth it. |

Here is my 454 powered 76'C10 Siverado.136,000 miles. The interior is absolutely perfect outside of a split in the dash. The only mod is the exhaust.Dynomax headers with dual 4 inch pipes. It is the baddest sounding truck around. :aw: The rear end is probably a 3.73 limited slip, since it has the trailering package.Beat an older five liter mustang once.Only burban I know tha will make those 31x10.5 beg for mercy :metal:.Top speed around is around 180km/h.Thats hairy in a burban let me tell you.Not sure if i want to K25 it or rod it(pro street anyone?)and get a second one to monster-fy.Definately fuel injection, bore and stroke for the 454 and a stump puller posi rear.
I'd go "Pro Touring" with this one. Drop it, larger wheels, huge ass brakes, etc. Nice Burb!
Question for you,Bob Geravis: whats the 'V' in V1500 denote?Don't believe i've ever heard of that.
C/K-series trucks became R/V-series in '87. C/K designation was re-used for the new body style in '88. R/V designation carried on for Crewcab, Blazer, Jimmy, & Suburban until they were restyled for '92.
What he said. Though I'm pretty sure on mine it stands for "Very Rusty". :)
87 Burb 454 w/th400. Everything is stock on it. Only thing I have added is airbags in the rear to adjust for towing my Blazer.
I have removed the running boards since this pic. http://www.socalbigdawgs.com/albums/.../aab.sized.jpg |
Nice! I'm curious about the airbags, though. What brand did you use? Do you like them?
I used the air lift brand and here is a before pic with Distributon bars attached.
http://www.socalbigdawgs.com/albums/.../aaf.sized.jpg And here is an after pic with no WD bars attached. It's hard to see becasue of the shadows and the angle but ollk at the distance from the center of the wheel and the top of the fender opening on the rear tire. It's a big difference between the 2 pics. http://www.socalbigdawgs.com/albums/.../aaj.sized.jpg It's a HARSH ride when ther is no weight on the rear, but you can adjustthe pressure in them. I usually run about 80 PSI when loaded witht the truck and trailer and about 25 when unloaded. |
Thanks very much for the information. I was thinking about getting a set, but I was concerned about the ride. Since they're adjustable though, it shouldn't be a big deal. We don't tow very often, but it would be nice to have them on there for the occasions that we do. Maybe a swaybar on the truck too. It gets a little hairy around 60 MPH.
I'll be getting a swaybar in mine soon also. I just need to put it on. Mine is pretty steady all the way into 85 towing or not. But I do mountain roads while towing so tht's why I want it.

Here is mine. I just got it last friday. My plans are to put a 6 inch suspension lift on this weekend and eventually put a 3inch body lift on. I will put at least 37 to 38 inch tires on when done. it is a 91 with a 5.7 in it. It has very little rust , the worst part is after buying it I found that the tailgate hinges ar rusted off of the body. I have located a replacement panel for around $145.00. Let me know what you think since this is the first Burb I have had for several years. When I put the lift on this weekend I am planning on putting in the 3/4 ton axles that I rebuilt for another truck in too. I have put disc brakes on the 14 bolt ff axle that I will be installing.
That Burb is in nice shape, with the exception of the tailgate issues. Mine was the same way when I got it, I hacked together some repair panels for the hinges, but I need to get the replacement panel. It's starting to let go again. That's not a bad price on the replacement panel, most places around here want over $200.
It should look great with the lift as well, and the axles are a good idea, from what I've read. My rear axle is starting to make noise, so I'm sure an upgrade/repair is coming soon. |
very nice. your sub is damn near identical to mine. i guess i dont have to post pics of mine now. just take those rims off and put the stock ones on and its my truck strait down to the interior.
How do I post a pic of my ride? Do I copy and paste? Are their size limitations?
Sorry but i am a newbie :new: |
i put mine here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...97&postcount=1
