Re: Stolen Truck Alert - 1972 C20 Custom Camper

If you read the entire thread, it all makes sense. The perp was caught, but with only the license plates, not the truck. Obviously, this guy's not telling, why would he?

As for the pictures, the OP simply did not have pictures of his truck before it was stolen, and can't take any now. All he wants is for the board members to watch for a 72 C20 for sale, or wherever, and report it back to him. It's a green and white, original paint, fuel filler removed, and hole patched, 400 big block engine.

The guy identified with my plate is:

Raylen Tasker
6'5", 220 lbs
White with blue eyes brown hair
28 years old
Lives in Fallbrook, Temecula, Lake Elsinore
Felonies, armed, tweeker
He is on the run with several warrants

You don't know what a 1972 stock C20 Custom Camper looks like?

"You don't know what a 1972 stock C20 Custom Camper looks like?"

Come on! You don't have to be like that. You have been overly vague at best. We'd all like to help and you don't have to be a jerk about it. If my truck was stolen, I'd be upfront and give everyone all the information I could to try to get it back. I'm pretty sure I could show you 100 pictures of a 'stock' 72 custom camper and they'd all look different. Strange that you don't have any pictures of your truck, but that's not the issue. Now, we know the guys name. Every little bit could help get you your truck back.

My description of the guy is overly vague? You need to read the whole thread.:metal:

The thief may be heading to Las Vegas for Christmas to visit family/friends. I let the police know.

If you see the guy, do not approach him. He has a long record including felony weapons. He is also a big guy at 6'5" and 220lbs. Currently three felony warrants out for him so he is in no hurry to get caught.

I had one, but the guy is a gear head and got it started. Next truck will have fuel shut off and tracking device.

How did he go free with 3 felony warrants? Didn't the police check for warrants when he got caught with the tags?
I hope they get him before he commits anymore felonies.

This is like an episode of COPS! I sincerely hope the truck is found and returned intact. I had a storage facility broken into once - douchebags went from storage unit to storage unit pulling the garage doors off with a wrecker, taking everything they could haul. Had nothing but an absolute cherry 65 Impala SS 396 in the thing and they couldn't start it - TWO kill switches. Thank the Lord. And also lucky the garage door they yanked off didn't fall back onto the car. The state of the car when it was over made it clear they tried to start it. I hope this turns out ok for you. I'd be losing my mind, as would many of us.

Just because the guy you think took your truck , what because he had the plates??
Sorry, I'm out..
hint, those that take and then sell or part vehicles are not holding on to lic plates...
they would've been left at the side of the road.. ASAP..
AGAIN have you called boarder patrol, have you called the local shipping docks and companies..
what is the vin..
and whom was the truck insured with..
som'nth fishie

Sure we know what a 72 truck looks like,, and there is more than a few white and green, ones.. without a v.i.n #. none of us can help you nor can the cops..
Your lic plate # is NOT enough..

I hope you are able to get your truck back in one piece. If the guy had your plates on him he is without question a person of interest. Maybe he likes to keep the plates of every vehicle he steals as a momento.... I don't think its odd that you don't know the vin #. If someone stole my truck right now all that info is in the glove box... I'm gonna write it down...
When I was a kid in the mid 70's my Dad had a MINT 66 Mustang convertible that he'd recently finished restoring. It got swiped right out of our driveway. I can remember how distraught my Dad was (we all were) After a few days he got his car back. It was stolen by some local punks who joyrode it and then totally vandalized it by slashing everything they could. I'm sorry that some guys feel the need to bust your balls at this time.

ONE CALL to your insurance co. gets you the vin# and not many carry the title in the glove box..

Yes it's no fun having anything stolen.. but if you want help. then you have to throw us a bone.. like the vin..

if this truck is insured with any collector type insurance.. or set value coverage, photo's were taken.. before the truck was covered..

Heck even normal insuance that you have collsion coverage requires photo's before coverage.

I have plenty..
and did.. A person that wants to get their vehicle back makes those calls..
and post on forums the info on vehicle and vin..

posting the tags was pointless, why, by the time you posted it, they were not on the truck anymore..
Only time they are not removed is when a person takes a joy ride and then dumps it..

Whom is it insured with?

:agree:

More than anything, I just wanted to alert other truck owners to what happened and to think about anti-theft plans for their truck. When I get another there will be a kill switch, fuel shut-off and Lo-Jack or GPS tracking on it. Wish I had put thought into that before this event. Police said 50/50 to get truck back and if I do it will most in the next 2-3 weeks. Otherwise, gone.

I am not sure what you are implying but you should drop off this forum. This is one of the best forums and everyone is very supportive and helpful of each other. I see you are new to the forum and you may want to consider if this is the right one for you. Peace and best wishes to you.

Cool,

This area has something for every type of person, is a major business hub, very nicely represents all 4 major sport leagues ( uh... come on Mavs! ), produces beautiful women and hosts some of the coolest public events! DFW airport brings the rest of the planet within reach too.

Good luck and hope to see you at Goodguys '17.
