I went to double pulleys they seem to run smoothly with no trouble so far. I just love the power steering now only takes one finger. Here are some pic's of my set up, also my engine had the short water pump.---Vernski:gmc2:

It is a 230-- the block number says it is a 250, The 230 & 250 pistons both are 3.875 bore,and the crank casting number says it is a 194 crank . The 194 and 230 are both 3.250 stroke and will interchange. So a 194 crank in a 250 block is really a 230 cu. Hey, I did not put it there, but it runs fine!!

Vernski-- I love your motor pictures. It that really an Offenhauser valve cover AND a Clifford intake??

Dave-Yeah-- I know you were wondering what to get me for Christmas this year...1 Offenhauser intake and three Strombergs please!!!

The reason I was asking is that looks like the bracket from a 292, I got one from a guy parting out a 75 truck (I think it was) with a 250, ended up it was a 292.... it would not fit the 250 without a lot of mods, so I'm still looking for brackets for PS to fit a 250.

Truck dr.--You might have the bracket from an integrated head 250. My bracket came from 250 pre-intregrated head. I do not know if the 292 takes a different mount or not. I looked for a LONG time to find this one.
I found 1 on E-bay last week and told a friend but he missed out on the bidding . It went for $99.00. Watch E-bay! I have seen several since I started but they bring $75-$125 with lots of activity. Good luck Bubba

The 6 cyl power steering setups show up every once in a while here in the '67-'72 classifieds. They might on the '73-'87 classifieds too, but I don't check there much.

That engine is looking sweet Vern! Hope to see it in person one of these days.

Hi Bubba yeah that's an offy also the side covers match but have no name. I got the cover from Jegs and the side covers from Langdon's stovebolt, The intake is a Clifford, it is hot water heated, the carb is a Edelbrock # 1404 500 cfm w/manual chock. I rebuilt the stock one barrel twice and I could get it to idle the mid range was balky get the mid range right it wouldn't idle. It has a marine cam from Mercruiser but runs smooth from idle on up. The air cleaner came from ebay I can't remember the name right now but I have a slip somewhere. Thanx---Vernski:gmc2:

PS to Cap thanx for the compliment, will bring it by but it may be in the spring right now it has some bare metal I need to get covered up.--Vernski

That's looking good! I'm kinda partial to those sixes as well. I had dual carbs on my 230 and then a Holley 390 before having the original 250 rebuilt to stock.

Bubba yea the truck that I got that brackets from was a 74 not a 5, and it was a 292 as I ended up buying it and put it in my 65 burb.

Seeing all these engine pics sure makes me want to get back working on my 67.

Hey Dave check the link in post #37 that's where I got mine you can also get them from Clifford Engineering as they are the same price, but Larrowe & Sons
is out in Oregon so taxes and shipping are less for me. I just put the manifold on this summer so I haven't been through a winter with it yet, But so far it doesn't run to long on choke and it's ready say 5-7 minutes. I got about $40. in extra heater hose and clamps though you would have that expence With a Edelbrock the heating area is smaller and you have to buy the plate and stuff extra. Need anymore info just ask thanx.---Vernski:mm:

He is a retired engineer from GM and hot rods these sixes. I think he would tell you the heat is always needed for performance as it helps to atomize the fuel so it is delivered evenly to the cylinders and does not cool and settle out.

YEAH!!! The turbo 350 transmission is in place. Then it rained and I had to stop. Maybe tomorrow I can get the rear tranny brace tightened and the starter installed.

Attachment 507731 Paint code says light blue- A 1964 standard color It has been repainted once but is very close to original. It appears washed out in the florescent lights in the garage. This is a summer picture when the front end was out. Do a google search for www.autocolorlibrary.com It has all the old paint colors from the old days
