Thanks. I've got the first round of high build blocked out on the shell and it's turning out to be a really straight car. It may only take one more round for the shell.

Not much to report, just a lot of priming and blocking. I did go ahead and spray the front bumper filler panel red. I just wanted to make sure I didn't hate the color before I paint the car. I haven't got to see it in direct sunlight yet, but so far I'm liking it. I got a decent picture that's seems to give a good idea of the actual color. It's definitely RED

Getting closer to color. I finished blocking out the body shell, doors, decklid, and cowl panel down to 220 grit this weekend. I'm confident they are laser straight. The fenders and hood are almost there as well. I'm hoping to have them done in a week or so. Here's a couple pictures of a door and the decklid. There's nothing better than seeing a panel finally block out straight, and knowing you're one step closer.

I've got everything but the hood ready for color. It needs blocked out one or two mores times and it should be ready to go as well. It will be probably be next weekend before I have time to spray the color.
A pic of the hood in spi epoxy, the decklid and one of the doors after a 400 grit wetsanding. Before too long, the pictures will start to get more colorful!

I painted the rear panel and the small part of the quarter extensions that is black with some satin black.

I was having some issues with fisheyes every time I tried to shoot sealer over the last few weeks. After talking to Barry at SPI, he told me it was an air pressure issue. I decided to seal and paint the backside of the decklid as a test panel. After making the adjustments he recommended, it came out great. So, hopefully I can put the sealer issues behind me.

I was first convinced that my problems were related to my wax and grease remover technique. Then I convinced myself that the reducer was causing the problems. I could spray the epoxy without reducer and have no problems. As soon as I would reduce it to use as sealer, instant fisheye. So I gave him a call and he told me that 90% of the issues with their epoxy reduced as a sealer were related to the pressure at the wall. Mine was at around 95 or so. He told me to take it up to 125. He also recommended 2.5 turns out on the fluid setting, and 24psi at the gun with the 1.3 tip I was using. I was running the fluid out at about 4-4.5 turns and 28 psi at the gun. After making all of those changes, the sealer laid down perfectly. I've had to call or text Barry a couple times, and every time he has been great. I can't say enough good things about SPI's customer service. So far, I'm impressed with the products I've used also. But, I'm a complete amateur, so take that for what it's worth:lol:

I haven't gotten a whole lot done in the last couple of weeks. But today I was able to get some Raptor Liner sprayed in the rear wheel tubs, and on the inside of the inner fenders. I'm eventually going to spray Lizard Skin sound, and heat control on the inside of the car. I wanted to use something a little more durable in the wheel wells.
Tomorrow I plan to start the cut and buff process. I'm really looking forward to seeing the body start to come back together. Assembly, and putting on chrome and trim are my favorite parts of a build.

Thank you Ryan! This is my first time using it myself. I have a friend that has used it several times on the Mopars he's had. He always sprays it in the wheel wells just like I did here. He says it makes a noticeable difference in the pinging sound gravel makes when it comes out of the tire and gets thrown into the inner fender. The back roads I live on are not the best. I used one of the 1L bottles to get two coats on the parts I sprayed. So, it cost me about $40 (including the gun) to do the parts I did. It was very easy to spray, and I really like the way it looks.

I've got the main body shell, and the decklid color sander and buffed. It's coming out really nice. It looks kind of pink in these pictures for some reason.
