Re: 49 Chevy 3600 S10 Swap Short Bed Conversion
It is so cool to see the kids really get into the old trucks. I always say a young kid or a 90yr old will both be in awe every time they see an old car or truck down the road. My daughter is 4, luvs to get in the truck and "drive" taught her 1-3 gears and neutral. When she gets older I'll teach her 4,5 and Reverse!

No real updates to report. Family and work take priority and we have decided to finish a few projects around the house and sell it later this year. Our family of six is/has outgrown our current home. Progress will likely continue to be slow to non-existent for the next year or two as we sell/build a new home and shop. Keep up the nice work - I'll continue to tag along for the ride.

Looking back I did make a little progress to the shop. Installed a lift, built a portable base for the mill that I have yet to fire up and insulated a portion of the walls.

Started to remove the P/O's bondo work and paint to see what else might be hiding beneath - I need a larger air compressor. Gave up on the paint removal and decided to clay bar the 65 Buick. The kids really enjoyed helping. This was my first car purchased at age 15. Still only has 86,xxx miles on the original 225 V6 engine. It hasn't been plated since 2002.

Pretty awesome to see so many 47-55.1 Chevy and GMC trucks all under one roof. Even had a chance to meet and talk with a forum member. A lot of nice trucks were on display at the A.D. Nationals in Franklin, IN over the weekend.

I've been able to spend a little time here and there removing the paint/filler from the cab and fenders. I really like all the dark spots in the metal. The wire cup brush really gives a nice gloss appearance.

Really hoping to dig back into this truck this Spring. I think I might switch gears and design a utility bed and stick with the stock 3600 frame. Just a thought for now.
