Re: Wife's '57 Wagon "RADIO FLYER" project...
:dohh: I had just looked through those pics prior to posting. I need to get more sleep at night!
Yeah, that looks like an 8 3/4". Are you positive it's not an original 57 rear though? They were chunk type also but weren't real strong. I haven't looked at one of those in a long time. If it is a Mopar rear, the chunk will have one of two casting numbers on it-489 or 762. I don't remember which one is the stronger of the two but either is better than the OG rearend. |

Re: Wife's '57 Wagon "RADIO FLYER" project...
Thats a good looking 57 wagon you have there. My wifes parents just bought a completely restored 55 4 door wagon. Mildly hot rodded, very fun little car. I have a 55 bel air 2dr hardtop that I am going to restore. Now that my in laws have their finished 55 wagon it is making me want to get started on mine.
Have you checked out trifivechevy.com that is a forum like this one but directed to 55-57 chevys. I joined last month, it is a very friendly forum as well. It is alot smaller than this forum though with only 10,000 members so posts move a little slower over there though. |
