Re: Rebirth of Clyde
Hey Clyde, that grille looks beautiful! Also love the rest of the truck.
I have a question if you don't mind answering about the rear suspension setup you have. I have seen your other posts about the truck bed trailer you have and the sweet camper as well, and I was wondering how the truck handled it with being lowered. I want to lower mine some, but still want to be able to tow a truck bed trailer and my dad's Champion bass boat. Thanks in advance! |
That grill looks amazing!! As well as the rest of the truck.

Grill parts powder coated, new trim rings and headlight doors. New lights, mine were 20 years old, went with some HID bulbs and will use the relay harness.

I tried ( yeah I know) to match the grey of the 60/61 but it came out much darker than I expected and the painter expected. It’s a medium charcoal kind of color. I thought about fawn but I didn’t think it would go with my silver rally’s and seats...now I’m thinking of going with a bright blue ( like a 65 Impala)for the carpet, seats and kick panels. |

I haven’t driven Clyde and Bonnie( the Camper) together much, I put air bags on Clyde to handle the weight and be lowered. I had 4” drop springs and they were way to soft, almost dragging the ground. With the airbags, I just air them up to (45# driving) whatever is needed to handle the extra weight. It really depends on how much you want to lower it. 2” wont hurt you at all. |

I really like the grille and the fresh powder coated parts. Did you use new screws for the bulb retainer rings? I'm missing some screws, and I have no idea where to get some from |

One step closer to legal for old Clyde, got him inspected and drove around for a couple hours. Needs an alignment.
Also ordered these from Brothers, very nice even though they are from overseas. |
