Easy guys, remember that the person that built this truck probably put his heart and soul into it. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it if a whole forum thrashed your ideas and enginuity(sp). I do not know the owner or builder but he did put a lot of work into it. I understand also that everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm just saying put yourself into the builders shoes, you would probably love it.

:agree: but if i wuz in the builders shoes, i prolly would not have done that to a perfectly good truck:jdp: is this truck owned by a beaner in L.A. or sumthin?

And BTW, imagine what the bid would be on a unmolested truck in the same condition. I wonder if he'll throw the 65 first place trophies;)

I just threw up a little in my mouth. :(

There's a purple '71 that has been chopped that runs around in this area. What I don't get about it is with all the work they put into it to modify the cab they painted over all the firewall, sill and door rust. Looks decent from 50 feet until you start to see all the bondo and rust bubbles.

To each their own I guess.

I agree...some judge at a local show 'n shine told me they thought I was an idiot for putting a 396 in my old S-10 and they hated it.

So I said "Thanks for bein honest bu uh....**** you, its mine and I like it"

But in all reality I hated it, I couldnt keep it running longer than a week at a time.

All that work and he forgot to louver the hood, lame.
Maybe he's saving it for his next project.(?)

Re: why?

It's all depending on the proportions. Some cars/trucks look better chopped than others. 49/50 Merc look way better chopped than stock. Heck any ford from 29-34 looks better with 2-3" off the top.

But a 67-72 with the way the body flows, chopping the top just makes the bottom look heavier/chunkier than it really is.

I can appreciate the effort it takes to do a chop job, but don't have to like what it was done to. Just an opinion, nothing more or less. It's his truck he can do what he wants and I can voice whatever opinion I have about it.

I fully envision Cheech and Chong pimpin' this through downtown L.A. with about 50 lbs. of "Blond Lebanese Hash" between the seats. And for the record, I would rather have someone tell me honestly that they don't like my taste in trucks than to lie to me to make me "feel good". ...........................Bamm!:metal:

:agree: And what's with the cab floor? It doesn't even look like its finished!
I'm going to be sick......:barf:

My old dad told me "ifn you dont have nothin good to say, dont say nothin at all".....but I never did listen! You guys are a bunch of critics......if it aint stock, you gotta slam it. Now I will say for sure that the chop was a little short for my taste, but you need to respect the work that went into that;) ill bet at least 1/2 of the critics are 1/2 my age, & never touched custom work like that (Ill be 50 this year), & you guys are allready hardset in your veiws.....wait till you are my age.....I hope you all mellow out some! Im not here to say whats right/wrong with a build, as there are many ways to do the same old truck. What I am saying is OPEN your minds to the next guys build(even if you dont agree with it), as chances are it was not built for YOU! Off the soap box....... L

Re: why?

not that I'd do it, but it looks kinda cool, in it's own way. I think it would look better if it had a 67, or 8 clip with the side markers shaved, and an original short wide bed.

Re: why?

While I can appreciate all the effort that went into making it what "is", I don't find it aesthetically pleasing. (How's that for PC:) )

Yeah, some ideas of what NOT to do. Sorry, my opinion, may not count for much but I'm entitled to it.

:haha: Agreed.

This truck is an example of trends, and how costly they can be.

"Redneck pimp" - This is frickin' genius!

Re: why?

Thats a lot of skill and work involved in that truck, but it doesn't really tickle my fancy. That chop is a little much, but the craftsmanship is really good. I'll give 'em that one

Re: why?

i'll preface this by saying the builder does have a lot of time and money into this and I can appreciate that but......

it makes me think the guy just took a bunch of pics of mod'd pickups, picked some of the more extreme or weird features and put it together like some kind of handicapped, 9-toed, feather boa wearin', crack smokin' frankenstein.

but then again the "builder" has the right to build his "handicapped, 9-toed, feather boa wearin', crack smokin' frankenstein". I mean "redneck pimps" have the right to molest whatever vehicle they want, this is 'merica :ww:
