I love all things George Washington.

Did some digging "Google :)". Found that it was a bottle of Chianti wine for the Bicentennial.

Wrapped up the George overflow bottle for George. For your viewing pleasure, the pictures are sideways so you can look at them laying down. Really couldn't figure out how to upload them correctly.

I would have never guessed Chianti. Nice to know Italians' were celebrating our bicentennial too.

Engine update: Found a high ram air manifold for half the price of new. "These things are expensive!!" Will either have to cut it up and weld the Plenum back to original or find a used one to get the elephant out of the room. Was previously on a Vette, so it was extended to keep the throttle body under the hood.

Have this doorway to nowhere since I have a fuel cell in the bed and was thinking of ideas. Hidden bottle opener would be cool, but decided on a power cut off switch. Bent up some stainless and with the help of my daughters Cricket machine, made up some appropriate decals.

Not sure if there is anyone else out there like me, that has an absolute hatred for Amber lenses? Haven't been able to find aftermarket clear ones other than custom and they were over a $100 bucks. After looking around online, I found that an older VW Golf has a similar shape and it actually worked out surprisingly well. Starter out by removing existing lens and making a template of the bordering indent. Transferred that to the new lens and rounded the corners with a table sander. Had to cut out left side mounting hole on the fender to accept the slide in holder on the new lens. Was able to reuse existing mounting point on the right side and existing bulb housing (Had to trim a little of the rubber ring and change the bulb to Amber). All said and done $27. Here is the part numbers, if anyone wants to give it a shot.

I'm sure sure there is a lot of us out there with some free time these days.....
Using it to do a little odds and ends. Original thoughts were to use license plates, decided to go with stainless. Started by using tape to make a template, and was excised to try out the dimple dies for the first time. Hopefully I don't go overboard :). Went with copper rivets to change up all the silver I have going on.

Man, the neighbors are loving me being home lately with all this cutting and grinding:lol: Newest project is a radiator cover made from the old roll pan I removed and a '70 rocker patch panel. Pretty much have it where I want it, just getting the mounting situated and will have to modify under the hood a little.

Mounting plates/ clips installed and body work started. Added some 3/4 flat stock in the front to create another accent and hug it tight to the radiator support. Most likely going to go satin black. Don't want it to jump right out at you when the hood is open.

Thank you, much appreciated. Decided to stick with satin black. People will know its custom, without the "Hey look at me" vibe.

Agreed & it looks like a clean, well thought out install.

Moving into the cab to do some organizing/ updating. Area where the current air tank gauge is pretty large and could find better use for it. There is one space left in the cluster, so decided to throw it there. Had to modify the mounting to sandwich the gauge to the cluster bezel to allow it space behind the factory lens. Will eventually change the gauge out to black, once I find one. Also took the opportunity to personalize the speedometer with the trucks name.

Waiting for some switches to come in to put the dash back together.....Grill was looking naked without an emblem. If you are not interest in paying $80 for a new one, here's how I made mine for around $10. Started with making a pattern with blue tape. Transferred to steel and gave it a slight bend to match the grill. For mounting, there is a little trick of drilling and tapping the hole for whatever size you need. Cut the head off the screw, then tack welded the finish side and grind clean.

To finish, I went back to my daughters decal machine. Wrapped the emblem in vinyl and after a couple different designs, settled with the black and red.

Thanks, I was definitely thinking about it. I'm ALWAYS all over the place with settling on one idea, so it will probably happen......

Switches are finally in! Decided to use the space where the gauge was for a cell phone holder. Converted the pull out parking/ head light switch to toggle and added a USB charging port. Fabbed everything up out of steel. Wrapped the face with 3M car wrap. Figured it would hold up better than spray paint and lined the inside with fabric ( Now the wife is down a pair of Yoga pants:)). Final pictures show the PSI airbag gauge behind the OEM clear lens for the factory look. Will change to black........eventually.

While the dash was apart, did a quick update on the configuration of the bag switches.
