Very nice project you have going here! I hope your FASS is one of the new styles that don't lose their prime all the time. MAKE SURE YOU SEND IN THE WARRANTY CARD! They won't warranty it without it and you will need it. I'd return it if you could. The stock lift pumps are tough as nails.

Your build is looking good and you will like the anteater!

About the fass pump. My thoughts were that when on a dirt road doing 50 or off roading with a 40 gallon tank that's a lot of air in the tank and in the lines.. I haven't heard one bad thing about the original lift pump but finding a sending unit and so forth but when researching for a sending unit it seemed like I was getting no where, so I copied the "suburban doomsday build". Have the tank mocked up and the screamin mounts. They were a pain to install by yourself well built tho...

Anybody have good body mounts? Ordered some but they dont fit and are not built as well as the original ones..

Also looking for a 23 spring coupler for t-case and a brake like for rear diff see pic.. hope you all r doing well. Vegas is hot as dog balls..

I’ve gotta side with everyone else, leave the pump mechanical. A 12V is a doomsday motor as it can run with zero electrical. I’d either run a stock pickup just verified to be close to the bottom or sump the tank. The stock lift pump is such a good design people retrofit them into the VE trucks before going electrical. It’s crazy the combination of factory parts you can use to make it all work, only aftermarket part on mine is the exhaust and radiator.

On your rear brakes, scrap the load sensing valve. There have been a couple threads on here. GM added it to pass 1 specific fed.gov test and they are nothing but problems when they get older. I removed mine and I don't notice any difference loaded or empty.

Re: 90 crew 1 ton Cummins 47re swap

Just build your own pick up tube. I have done it several times. You heat the brass or solder joint that holds the OEM pick up in the sending unit. Or you can even drill a new hole if the fuel sender is attached to the stock pick up. But you drill a 3/8" hole and use 3/8" line. Bend it how you need it, put a 30* slash cut on it and place it about 1/16" or 1/8" off the bottom of the tank. Braze or solder the new tube in. You can flare the end for a hose, or even add a tube nut before you flare it.

Now on the air removing pumps.... They do do a nice job of removing the air from the fuel. But that does you 0 good when your pump motor craps the bed and you are in BFE, or anywhere for that matter. Very few people stock those motors so now you are down and out. I have had horrible issues with the Fass pumps losing prime the last 2 to 3 years and that leads to mad customers. Who do you think they call when FASS doesn't answer? I'm just trying to save you some head aches. Supposedly FASS has redesigned the new versions to fix this but IDK. I quit selling them.

I also agree, get that load sense valve out of their. hey just create more head aches than they're worth IMO.

Best thing I figured out for cleaning was using the scotch-brite as pads for grease and dirt along with the concrete cleaner from the 99 cents store.. works amazing..

Hello,

Got the motor and transmission mounted, all frame boxed in. I'm not sure if it was worth buying the precut plates from diy4x4..had to spend a ton of time grinding, sanding, and cutting to make fit. Need to figure out the power steering lines right now until I'm able to move on.. there is a ton of stuff that I'm still trying to figure out and it seems my Google skills are slacking. Like the waste gate on the turbo, sensors, and other stuff. It's been fun so far and still think I can get her running by Christmas..cheers.

Purchased the por15 gloss off of Amazon. Working on putting a coolant bypass on #6 it's super tight tho.. my air intake is also hitting the brake booster.

Looking really good.
Too bad the frame boxing kit didnt fit better, for the cost it really should.

Have you thought about removing those aluminum heater hose extension tubes? I found hydraulic line fittings to adapt the huge pipe thread holes to 5/8 and 3/4 hose barbs.

Ouch I think that’s 89-91 only because of the extra terminals. If you take a picture of the fuse block side to help show, I may have one at home.

I didn't want to rewire everything but this is a mess..

Re: 90 crew 1 ton Cummins 47re swap

Unfortunately I don’t have an 88-91. Do the other two connectors lock together? Once it’s installed if they do I’d imagine that one side would still be enough to hold it tight. Especially since the terminals will have friction on them too

Ran into a couple hiccups with the transfer case shifter and intake hitting my brake master...has anyone used spray foam in the roof on r trucks? I'm also closing in the fender holes.. trying to sound deaden as much as I can on all areas of the truck..cheers.

Its one thing after another to build, modify etc. looks great! I like your intercooler mounts and the ac heat shield.
What is your idea on the intake clearance?
Also wondering what the aircraft style lines are for?
