Re: My 63 C30
Well this whole beer-virus nonsense has really played havoc with my plans for the spring. However, I have been able to acquire the following:
C&C 14-bolt 4.10 rearend from an '85 K30 American Autowire Classic update wiring kit GM 6263756 bellhousing to mate up with my NV4500 Assorted seals/weatherstripping 2 Yankee 77 cab marker lights to complete the set Pontiac vacuum gauge for the instrument cluster update new(old) shifter and boot for the NV4500 Hoping to get back to my Dad's this summer to finish stripping the '79 GMC motorhome....gas tank and brake booster...then we can send that thing back to the pasture! |

Well, as is often the case...life has gotten in the way the last few years. But I have made small steps.
Located a gauge cluster and had it rebuilt courtesy of Tom Garris @ Classic Gauge & Cluster up in Oregon...he does some incredible work! I still need to add the Pontiac vacuum gauge I found. Opened up the C&C axle to verify the 4.10 gears...turns out it's from a '77 C30, not an '85 as I was originally told. Both ring gear and axle stamping (KMR) confirm '77, at least from my research. R&P look to be in good shape, but I will be doing a complete rebuild (bearings/seals) just for peace of mind. We also ended up moving about 2 years ago, but now I have a proper shop in which to work! Now to get my daily driver rehabbed (a/c and a bunch of electrical stuff) so I can finally go get my C30 and start working. |
Re: My 63 C30
That shop is perfect congrats and thanks for bringing your thread back. The panel looks great too.

Progress! Well, sort of...we got it moved from the storage shed over to Dad's shop so that he could pull the engine, trans, and Brownie out. Also pulled off one of the fender cowl pieces to see how the dealer logo was attached....found more dirt dauber nests. Next month I plan to move it from there to my house outside of Houston...

Man, that is a great truck.

Re: My 63 C30
Man, I would just clean that thing up, get everything working, make some changes for comfort and drivability, and just drive that thing every chance I got. Cool old rig.
