I know where a factory black on black, 348/4speed ‘59 elcamino is. I wish I had pockets deep enough to try and get it. It’s got some rust but not terrible. It’s Been sitting for a good while.

The 348 and 409 cylinder head was flat the combustion chamber was in the block. The deck of the block was on a different angle than cylinder bores. I think the truck blocks were tall deck.

No tall deck truck blocks until the 366 big block came out.
Buddy of mine has a triple black 348 tripower 4 speed Impala convert.
I’m always teasing him about doing a rattle can flame job on it.
First high per car I rode in was a dual quad 64 409 4 gear 4.56 rear car. Back in ‘66.

That is a WAY cool "batmobile"! My dad had a '60 Parkwood wagon, and the guys at the GMAD plant in Van Nuys called him "Batman" because of that. I had a '64 convertible with a SHP 327, 4 speed and posi. My wife didn't want to drive a stick, so I sold it. Shoulda coulda woulda, if I only knew.

My two favorite things, my 348, 3x2 setup in my 69 c-10. The best of both worlds....
