Re: my 68 shortbed build
go as low as you want. personally, i like to see them lay frame when parked, with a 5 inch ride height.

Re: my 68 shortbed build
Looks GR8 so far! You said about your high school shop how old ar ya. The reason I was wondering is that my 14 year old nephew is building a 68 short fleet as you may have read in some of my posts/threads about his truck. I wanted to let him know, to give him some insparation for his build. I think it's awesome that you young guys are into these old trucks and also show some very fine skills to say the least. Nice job keep up the GR8 work and keep us posted like you have been I'll be watching for sure. RJ22
BTW make it as low as you want but I think your truck would really turn some heads with a young guy driving it being as low as alot of these import tuner machines. I would be sure to park right beside them and watch em' get pi$$ed off when no one pays attention to their car. lol |

Re: my 68 shortbed build
sandblast the inside of the bed. You can take the bed apart and take it to the blasters in pieces.

Re: my 68 shortbed build
oh yeah and my dad and i just bought a little miller 140 mig welder so the project shopuld start to speed up
aka i dont have to wait my turn for the welders at school anymore its confirmed that it IS a 50th!! but ive already done too much customizing to want to restore it to original. but i did save all the ivory interior and the trim (whitch is in great shape)!!! |
Re: my 68 shortbed build
This is fun to watch! If the first pic is before and the fourth pick is after you did a GREAT job under the hood. The paint under mine is drying- same deal, sand like crazy and then semi-gloss black.
How are you going to finish the console? Keep up with the pics please! Good on ya! |

Re: my 68 shortbed build
about how many hours (booth time) does it take to paint just the outside of one of thease trucks just to spray the base and clear not including time to spry primer.
