Re: Consolidation project 5/3 build thread.
after months of not being able to do anything i finally have a motor for the truck. I picked up an 80 Olds Cutlass with a 350 and th350 trans. I might get the tilt column out of it too and the power stering. I'll just need to purchase a power steering gear box. unless i can somehow use the powersteering box from the car.
here's a pic of the donar taken from my cell phone. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...orfortruck.jpg |
Re: Consolidation project 5/3 build thread.
The box will not work from the car. They mount on the opposite side of the frame.

oh well. at least all i'll have to get is the box.

w00t! Sucks to have to wait to work on stuff don't it? Sleepless nights, cold sweats and all that jazz.lol
Im in the same boat.I have my truck at work but won't have time to touch it til Wednesday.Good luck man |
Re: Consolidation project 5/3 build thread.
Yep waiting is terrible but it's been sitting for quite a while waitin on this motor so a little more time won't hurt. Gonna be fun getting everything to play nice with each other. Especially the radiator since the auto radiator is wider than the old V8 radiators for these trucks.

Looking good bro keep it up you will have that motor running in no time...

Re: Consolidation project 5/3 build thread.
Ok. I'm dragging my own build thread back up from the grave. Finally got the drive to work on it again. Spent last friday night getting the new wheel cylinders on the front so i can stop again. And had to pick the motor back up to better line it up. Was a fiasco as usual. Goin now to try to get the mounts welded up for the motor and (God willing) put the drive shaft into place so all that will be left is the radiator and electrical. Then it will finally be functional. Sadly though, I broke one of my brand new headlights. :whine:
