I do have a tailgate.. Look at the earlier passes, it's up. We put it down after 7-8 passes.

Move the batterey, move the tank, get some tires and front spring is the one I would play with first..

Also, as lame as it sounds, short shift in to second.

Hey Super73, are you using a 4L80E from a LS motor? Or is it from a conventional SBC? Ive got a 5.3 that Im putting a 4L80E from a 97 behind. Im going to have to buy another converter as the one Ive got is for a 6.5 TD, and was wondering about your 3200.

Re: Intros and set up..

My 3,200 is spoken for. The 91-present use the same verter but have a slightly different bolt patern on the bell housing to block. Only 1 bolt hole is mis-aligned. That is how I am running mine right now.

Today had both good and bad in it. Got my rear draglites in yesterday so I had the MT ET Street 30x13.50's a buddy had mounted. Had to clearence a little more of the bed (tubs are out) to fit the inside and I had to get rid of the e-brake cable.

Bummer part was some how one of the driver shank lugs striped. When I went to take the wheels back off it snaped one wheel stud.. I guess it's better that way so I can pull the axles and put some longer ARP studs in it.

Also pulled the heater box, removed the front bumper and trimed the bumper horns off with the plasma cutter. I think I'm gonna fab up a roll pan for the front.

I need to convert over to a manual brake set up. Any one know of a good dual master that I can find in the local bone yards?

Also thinking of swaping this vega steering box I have in over the power set up. Just need a pitman arm and work a steering shaft.

New tires hooked great on my small test pull today. Couldn't spin them out of the hole with the 3,200 verter. We'll see what happens with the 4,400..

Re: Intros and set up..

not as pretty as it once was.......... look at the second pic left of the back window above the bed rail... thats a hole ripped in the cab and you will also notice the rear quarter is rolled under..... the weekend before that pic was taken i took a friend for a ride and all hell broke lose. I had it up on the converter on the break....when i let go it blew the tires off and started wheel hopping pretty bad when i shifted to sec. it sheared the wheel studs and the wheel came off and just about ripped the bed off .. it pulled three of the bolts through the frame ripped the fuel lines off and the nitrous line . there is a scrach at the top edge of the back window... thats how high the bed went.... it was a hell of a ride.....

Thanks, how much room do you have between the tire and frame? Just wondering, I'm going to try 31x16.5's on my 12" rim tucked in the fenderwell like yours and hoping it'll all fit, mine is mini tubed about 1 to 3/4" from the frame. Nice truck by the way.

Re: Intros and set up..

I felt something go wrong when I let go of the button and lifted! I drove it to the turn off and onto the return road but I could hear something rubbing after I made the turn off. I took two straps and pulled it back to center and eased it back to the trailer.

I think your going to need a little more offset than I have. There is a least 6" to the frame on mine. The truck is stored an hour and a half away at my father inlaws farm for the winter. ill be out there this weekend i will look for sure................. this might help. My friends truck has 29x18.5 on 14" rims . and it dosnt rub the frame

Re: Intros and set up..

Thanks, my rim's are 15x12 with 7.5" back space. Right now I run 29x14.5 tire with a stock width rear end, I'm going to a narrowed 9" and lowering the rear so the tires tuck up a bit. I want them to sit in as much as yours do, the rear end is just parts right now and has to be built so I have the advantage of making it whatever width I need as long as there is room for the tire. I'm pretty sure I'll have room for a 31x16.5 tire but just want to double check before I buy tires and have them mounted, If I can't tuck them in I'll go to a 14.5 then instead, main concern is clearing the outer part of the inner where it sticks in a bit to joint to the fenderwell. I don't want it to rub the tire.
