He had it backwards. The TH350 modulator is on the rear facing rear and the TH400 is closer to the front pointing right.

Keep it simple. The first answer in this thread is the simplest. Just look at the pan. That works whether the transmission is installed, laying around loose, complete or just the case. The TH350 is slightly oblong front to back with one 45 degree corner.

Both TH350 and TH400 use M49 option code for some odd reason. That's like using the same code for all V8s or all I6s.
