Yeah...when I was looking for another blazer at the end of last year I went and saw him to see if he'd sell it back. It's sitting in the backyard, hood up, back window down and driver door cracked open. Rod still sticking out the oil pan, and all four tires are dry rotted and flat.

it was a sad sight.

I wanna wait until I put the new rallies and grill on my truck before I do more pic whoring.
But here is N2TRUX's Blazer. It should be on here.
Crush,
I would love to see more pics of your old Blazer. I really dig it. Did it come that color, with the brown top or is that primer--either way--it looks good. To me visually if it were 1-1.5 inches lower in the front it would be perfect--atleast in that pic.

Re: Inspirational 2WD Blazer Picture Thread

jdurant,

That was the colors it was when I bought it. Originally it was a mint green color. I bought it from the original owner who had it painted in the late 80's in the dark green with tan top. Interior was dark brown and woodgrain. All I did to it when I got it was put the 4/5 drop on it, wheels/tires and did the top-end of the motor with cam/vortecheads/headers/exhaust/air-gap intake...it was a fun truck.

Unfortunately I don't think I have anymore pics...Ken?

BUT THE RED ONE ON THE TRAILER IS A FIVE LUG AND HAS A K5 BADGE ON THE FENDER?

All 70's blazers have a k5 on the finders, even mine had one.

there were only k5 badges on blazers but if you were to decode the vin the 2 wheel drives were c series and the 4 wheel drives k series. The c and k actually define the chassis type 2 or 4 wheel drive and the 10, 20 and 30 come from the series 1 = 1/2 ton 2 = 3/4 ton and 3 = 1 ton. I'm not really sure where chevy came up with the 5 in k5

Ya you got me on that, GM did some things I do not under stand.

And that pic is my blazer back in 1985 and yes it is 2wd in that pic. My dad order it from GM in 1978. That wild to see it like that..

Here is my 82, As of now the original 305 is pulled out and sitting in my shop. I don't know which way I am going to go with it yet, leaning towards a ZZ4 create motor. I already swapped the front end to a 91 style and put on some new shoes. Future plans for the suspension are 2 1/2 spindles and a rear shackle. Thats if I don't decide to sell it first, I have a Camaro project that I need to get to also.

A 2wd Blazer is a K5 and a C-10 all at the same time. The confusion comes in because of the C/K designation that GM gave for 2 and 4wd trucks. K5 Has nothing to do with that designation.

Yes, it's a name GM gave the Blazer. All full size Blazers are K5's.

Yes it is, that is what we went camping in and took to the lake in. So it has a lot of good history with us.

Thanks Ken for letting us know that, find new things out every day..
