Very nice... love the color too :)

Coupla questions - where'd you get the overhead console from? How about the cup holder around the floor shift?

Nice, clean and simple... congrats on a great-looking ride!!!

Nice truck, you've done some nice work. One question

How did you get the newer style center caps to work with your six lug wheels.
I'm assuming they are regular chevy ralley wheels.

Thanks

Re: My 69 GMC stepside is finished.

Center caps: I got the dual thread lug nuts from Ebay. All the newer cars with dual thread lug nut are metric. I found a company that makes the dual thread in SAE.

Overhead console: I got it frome a 90's model Suburban. It didn't fit the contour of the roof real well so the headliner took care of that.

Cupholder: I got it from Walyworld. I am not super fond of that, until I find another shaped one that I like better I will live with it. I worked along time trying to get a neon console to work. It looked real good but the drink holders were under the dash to far so i scrapped it.

May I ask what color that is?

Did you change out the wheel studs to 1/2" , I have the original 7/16" wheel studs

You have an NV4500??? I'm jealous.

That is the same basic truck a the one my Dad had that I grew up in! His was a 1970 GMC 1500 small back window stepside. Yours is really a sharp machine!! I noticed you are missing the door plugs, if you need them the ones LMC truck sells for the ends or the rocker panels fit perfectly!

Re: My 69 GMC stepside is finished.

mas09ts the color is Inferno red. Its a current Chrysler color. Ford makes Torreador red which is idenical.

Mick406 I used the same 7/16 wheel studs. Dealsonwheelstwo is their username

67Chevyredneck I wish I had the NV4500 but I got the NV3500. All that's left with that is getting an electronic speedometer.

Re: My 69 GMC stepside is finished.

The inside door handles came from a early 80's Datsun pickup. The engine is a 355. I have to clean it up under the hood before I take any pictures.

Thanks for all the kind words. You never know how someone is going to take a post like this without being boastful. I will definately return the kind words as others post their trucks also.

Re: My 69 GMC stepside is finished.

that is a sharp lookin step side, always loved short steps. If I ever get anotherr pickup, that's what I want, but i think a c/5 blazer is next on my wish list.
As for the center caps, there's another route...

Then I used long chrome lug nuts from jegs tohold them on. I wanted some about a 1/4 inch longer, but couldn't find anything locally.
I personally hate those plastic lug nut covers with a passon and thought they looked bad when they first started doing it.

Re: My 69 GMC stepside is finished.

Longhorn man I will post a pic of a different setup of hubcaps I am going to run without rings. They fit around the hub instead of inside the center. If you look at the first pics you can see the wheels will take those. I used the stuck wheel look because i had these at my dads and they have 3" backspacing which is about an inch more than the truck rallies.

68shortstep was your truck optioned with the sidemount? Does it have it as an option on the SPID?

Re: My 69 GMC stepside is finished.

that was actually towards Mick406... I thought i had quoted him with his Q about how you installed them on yours.
However, i DID fail to notice that you had that style rim... I thought they were rallys like mine.

That is a sweet truck - I really like the overhead console. Is it wired?

Well done! You must be proud. Have fun with her!

Re: My 69 GMC stepside is finished.

The overhead console is wired. The map lights work and I also ran a clock wire for the blank spot if I ever want to put one in. I put a clock out of a 77 Grand Prix in the dash where the fuel gauge was instead.

Re: My 69 GMC stepside is finished.

Just in case anyone is interested. The steering wheel is off of an AMC Eagle. You can find them on Ebay fairly cheap and the look like the early 70's rally wheels that came on Cutlass and Skylarks. Since AMC used alot of GM stuff back then the horn and spline are all GM compatible. I haven't found the best looking horn emblem yet but the wiper knob fit perfect for now.

Hey, if you don't mind, can I see how you adapted the seat to the sliders?

that sir is a very nice truck and i'm pleased you left the spare wheel on the side.i too put a cover on mine as our hot sun perishes the tyre when parked outside all the time like mine.will be happy if mine finishes up half as good as yours
