I switched to blue coral and still have water spots, but they wipe off a lot easier than they did with the meguires.

I have the same issue on my black TL-S and have tried many different spray detailers. Wizards Mist-N-Shine is awesome (I use it after Wizards Wash or Meguiars Gold Class). Meguiars seems to affect the wax less, but Wizards leaves fewer spots...and I use HARD well water....yuck!

The Mist-N-Shine takes about two squirts of the spray bottle to do an average hood, so it lasts a long time!

That is why I changed over to Wizards products. I also use the Wizards "Shinemaster" for my paint sealant and it stands up real well to hot and cold weather, even this snowy nasty crud we are having now. It may help you with your water spots. I always hand wash unless the weather is so crappy, I can't get a hose to work. I purchase my Wizards product directly from the comapny and save a large amount on cost, by buying enough to last me a year or so. The cost at Knipps, or street vendors is really high.

As for soap, I use the Mequiar's "Professional Car wash Shampoo" (# 62), due to it's pH being the lowest and I have little issue with water spotting, even with my rural water supply. This stuff comes ina gallon size container and I get it at Knipp's in Wichita, Ks. The best I have found. Knipps also gives discounts for anyone in a car club---anywhere--because the club I belong to is out of Kansas City and they honor that.
