Rene those 3 trucks sure look good with the slots on em. Reminds me of my first truck. 8 & 10" polished ET's. The 3/5 drop looks to be the all around best drop. Well IMO. ;)

Yeah... I'm thinking before I drive 400+ miles to Atwater... we would need to be much further along then "might let you talk me out of a set". :hm:

At least I know who is hoarding all of the truck slot mags out there. :D

What size tires are on your truck?

Sorry I should have read all the posts before I asked as I see you have already answered my question.

Hey threeontree. I have a 69 chevy short bed 2WD C10. I replaced my stock front drums and a-arms with a set off a 86 GMC 1/2ton with disc brakes. Think I paid 250 for everything also came with sway bar, power steering and tie rods. Everything bolt up nice. Could be a cheaper route for ya!

What would the ride difference be between 1" coil/2" drop spindles and just using a 3" drop coil?

I was wondering if I would need to notch my frame for 3/5 or the 4/6 stance.

When I did my 69, I did 4" springs and 2" drop blocks on the rear. My axle housing was about 1/2" away from the frame rails. Due to that and how it sat too low for my liking, I ended up removing the drop blocks. But I know a few other guys that are running 6" drop springs and have no problems.

and it's unsafe. Common practice but being an idiot is also a common practice. Spend $269.00 for ECE 2.5 in drop spindles and another 114.00 for drop springs.
Much better than winning a 'Darwin' for being too penurious.

Re: pics of trucks witha 3/5 drop?

Cutting is fine if you know what you're doing... same rule as for everything else in life. In these threads I almost never hear anyone talking about checking for coil bind at full compression or about checking preload of the spring installed and at full extension, etc.
