Damn thats alot of wires. I'm glad I paid someone to make me a standalone harness. That would have me scatterbrained for weeks! Nice work.

Re: project " Blue-Ray"

little bit more progress to report....got the guages in, they are autometer sport comp....im working on making a backing plate to attach to the factory bezel, more on this later...drilled and tapped some bosses on the block, so i could add adels, to keep the wiring neat, and tucked in... also made a mounting plate for the ECM/TCM, so i could get started terminating the wires..the TCM mounting holes were to big for 10-32 screw, so i reamed the holes, and added proper bushing..the ECM already had proper hole size to tap to a 10-32, so i taped them, so i could mount everything...the wires that are off to the side (not terminated) will be integrated into the factory harness with OE weatherpack connectors, so it will be a simple 'plug in' deal.. and also make eng/trans removal easy (should you need to)...

Are you running the pcm behind the engine like you have on other builds? I like the mounting plate too!

Re: project " Blue-Ray"

yes, that plate will mount to the firewall.. it still needs to be trimed, preped, and painted tho

Re: project " Blue-Ray"

got a bit more progress....got the autometer guages in, and started modding the existing cluster so they'll fit...basically i cut out the backside of the cluster and formed a peice of sheetmetal for the guages to mount to...i re-used the raised factory clear plastic peice, so the guages that needed to be raised, would be...then once everything was fitted in place i dissaembled everything and painted the sheetmetal, and started wiring them up...i used a weatherpack connector so everything is modular and can be removed/installed easily... the non-terminated wires that go up, are for the MIL light, and high beams, and those will be installed in the bezal (with weatherpack connectors as well.)

Re: project " Blue-Ray"

also got the firewall finished, filled all the un-used holes, cleaned all the old seam sealer outta the seam, then applied a 'nice' (unlike factory glob job) bead of seam sealer on the seam...got the paint matched to the glovebox, and painted/cleared the firewall....the firewall is a basecoat/clearcoat, while the factory was a single stage...needless to say the firewall looks nice and shiney compaired to the rest of the truck, but you get an idea of what the final color will look like...

Nice project and nice work! I can relate to the mess of wires you have there. I'm working on putting a 2002 24v cummins in a 2004 F-250 that had a 6.0. It has it's moments for sure.

Heck, If I had either one of you guys money, I'd throw mine away. Wish I could afford to have him do my cluster like that too. Or even have the cash for sweet gauges like these.:waah::waah:

Re: project " Blue-Ray"

thanks everyone for the complaments...
here is a pic of the guages, all the guages can be seen, pending on the angle you look, some spot are 'hidden' but with a slight move of the head, you can see those spots no problem.. i may open the holes on the bezels so you can see more of the guages, but it's very visible as is....
but, if they can be improved on, ill certainly do it, and post new pics...
