Kind of a lapse in the pictures here, I got wrapped up in working and forgot to grab the camera for some pictures.

3. Got the Motor/tranny/transfer married and put in. Got a Center Force dual friction clutch and a brand new Flywheel from NAPA.

4. You can see in these the rims and tires all done. Forgot to get pics of them off the truck, but they are 15x8 Steel wheels with 33x10.5 BFG's They look awesome in person. Thanks to Eric (Too Much Stuff) and Frank (PICKMUP) for the rims and caps.

Not too much progress going on, been working 6 days a week lately and dont have much energy left over for the project. But heres a few pics to keep this thread alive.

I got the blazer tank painted and mounted. I ended up scrapping those stupid straps and J-bolts that come with the kit after fighting with them for who knows how many hours. I bolted the tank right to the frame with some rubber in between so it wont squeak. Still need to run fuel lines and work on the filler hose.

Also got my Entropy radiator mounted up halfway. Had to do some customization to the radiator support since its built for the 4-Row mounts. Still waiting on a set of 4-Row hold downs for the top. Pretty happy with how this radiator looks, plus its hand-made in the USA... how can you beat that? :flag:

Re: 1972 4x4 Short Bed Project "Seven-Deuce"

Last weekend I ran the 3/8" fuel lines from the blazer tank to the fuel pump, and from the pump to the carb. My first time bending fuel lines, but i only buggered up one 2 foot section of fuel line getting the hang of it. Now i guess i have to run a return line back to the tank? The old motor didnt have one, but this new fuel pump has a return. Any advice on this? it looks much smaller like maybe 1/4" or 3/16". And i assume it can just go to one of the small tubes coming off the tank? Some pics to keep you guys interested, lol

Kinked piece of fuel line: (add $7 to the running tab)

Saw this over in the NAPCO thread, was thinking this route may be easier than tackling all the Bodywork!! Evidently this is a running driving and insured truck.
Very cool thread with some great pictures, check it out.

So last week I finally had enough screwing around, and tied together all the loose ends that were needed to get this thing fired up for the first time. It was dark by the time I got it started, but from the video you can still get the picture. Enjoy.

Awesome build, anxiously awaiting the next round of pics. Where did you get the fuel tank? I am in the planning stages on mine and just wanted your take on the install. Thanks,....Casey

I should upload some more pics, i have the cab back on and i'm into bodywork now.
As for the fuel tank, I don't even remember... But i think i got it from the truck shop in California. The kits are pretty much the same no matter where you get it from. I was not a fan of how the straps worked, so i bolted it to the frame with rubber in between to prevent squeaking.

Re: 1972 4x4 Short Bed Project "Seven-Deuce"

I feel like i havent gotten much done, but i guess i have made some progress since the last round of pictures. Ive had to ease up on the amount of money i'm dumping into the project due to a certain Brand new 2011 Silverado that I just couldnt leave the dealership without... The cab is back on the frame, and ive been teaching myself auto body. Once i dove into the outer floor patch on the passenger side, i found the lower A-pillar was rotted out pretty good. So what i thought was going to be an easy place to start learning panel replacement, (floor pan covered by carpet) turned into working on a spot where 5 pieces come together :waah:
Ive also been just collecting parts here and there as i find them. I got the plaid fabric for my highlander seat cover, some NOS Custom10 emblems, new door hinges, and some other stuff. Anyway, here's some pictures for all you junkies... :chevy:

The new ride: (Has a leveling kit since this pic)

Re: 1972 4x4 Short Bed Project "Seven-Deuce"

Thanks guys. The ride quality of the new truck is 5x better than the '03 2500HD it replaced, but there are some things that arent too exciting about it. Like the rear bumper being made out of tinfoil. Oh well...
