Like this.

Seriously thought of getting this and bolting my parts to it. But I'm not sure Crown Vic parts are the same.

The lower control arm for the Crown Vic is not the same as a mustang II control arm. I have never seen a mustang II control arm anything like the 03 + crown vic lower control arm. So i highly doubt you will find a cross member with the right style mount for the crown vic arms. and judging by the looks, the lower control arm on the Crown Vic take the brunt of the work for the front suspension while the upper control arm is more of a guide than load bearing.

The Mustang II crossmember on Speedway does not include the lower control arm pivot tubes are not included, but are needed to mount mustang 2 style lower control arms. You may be able to modify it to mount the CV arms... it will take some fabbing skills.

In the end I personally think it will still cost more than fabbing your own crossmember based on the Crown Vic out of steel.

Well, it's all mounted under there now, all that's left is the steering, which I would have to figure out anyways. So (someday) I'll get the rest of the truck to the point where I can test it to see how bad or good it works.

aah. So you stuck with the cut down CV cross-member. Right on. I thought you had gone with the mustang II cross-member. I am looking forward to seeing how you conquer the steering. Have you looked into the ford escort rack? I read somewhere that someone was using this because it was shorter. I wish I could find the post...

Thanks for the tip on the escort rack. Whatever I use it will have to be from something that steers from in front of the axle, not sure how an escort does.

Might be of interest:

The steering rack was cut as well as the crossmember. Gotta be brave I guess.
