Cant beat a 3/4 ton chevy!

I need to replace my sagging coils on the back of my 72...
I never thought I would lower my truck, but ECE 4" or 5" lowering coils set the truck down low and would look sweet.
I'll probabaly drop the 2" or 3".
I'm not talking about slammin it and draggin sparks...
What do you guys think about lowering trucks.
I have a beater to do the grunt work this one is my ride!!
If I put stock height coils on the back the a$$ end will stick up like a cat in heat!!

I use mine all the time. The most I had was all the lumber for my brother's 12' x 16' deck. Those 16' deck boards were about 1' of the ground sticking out the back. Just had 11 6' dog ear privacy fence panels w/ 11 8' 4x4 is the back, that was not too bad.

I use mine to stack junk on. :rolleyes:

Randy, with that new garage you should not have anything stacked on your truck.

Yeah, I sure have alot of junk though. :D (actually, the only thing stacked on it now is my new dis-assembled stepbed that I got from Primer_72. :cool:

I use mine for little things, but after the restoration is done it will be retired.

Ever hauled a 6 ft tall round bale in the back? hehe, thats fun goin down the hiway! ya, I think thats what prompted me to get a sway bar! I've purposely removed the overloads though to keep myself from loading it too much!

I didn't realize the pallet would be so heavy. I ended up picking up another pallet that day.

One word bags! If you have bags 1/2ton 3/4 ton it don't matter. Bags will level the load! LOL Exspecially with leafs and 3/4 ton, my uncle had a 1 ton Dodge with bags and it was allways level with a large amount of tires on a rack trailer. I will be pulling a U-haul soon with my 2wd 1/2 ton blazer with bags from PA to MT. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. I plan on hitting 100+ pulling the u-haul, at least a few times! LOL :burnout:

Here's mine with a cubic yard of wet clay in the back, it actually smoothed out the ride quite a bit...

Well, at the end of this semester I will be helping my girlfreind and two of her freinds move out of their apartment and into their new place. ANNNNDDDD next semester I plan on having lots of kegers at my place.....

I've hauled a Ford In-line 6 cylinder for my buddies bronco. The 350 for my 70 C10, the 305 for my K5. Several tons of cotton mulch/dirt for the garden, usually 2500-3000 lbs at a time, loads of sand, gravel and plenty of bags of ready mix concrete.

A bit off topic but...

I once hauled a bare small block on the luggage rack on the back of a KZ400 for 30 miles on the most dangerous highway in Texas (US 380). It made for quite a high center of gravity *wobble wobble* and turning required that I lean forward to get some more weight over the front wheel *eyeee*

Note to self-- do not carry engine blocks on motorcycles any more.

i hauled a polaris 500 on the back of my half ton one day and it dind't squat as much as my dads 98 half ton, i have also hauled, engines, and rearends, pretty much anything that i need to, cherry pickers, etc.

when you talk about putting bags in the back are you talking ones that fit in the springs (I have coils) or a complete replacement for the springs?
My 70 needs something when towing my jeep on the trailer to level it out.

To much squat for me. My 1 1/16 swaybar is going on soon to.

i dont have pics but i load down my gmc. ive had the rear bumper 6 inchs off the ground on level ground. big change from 2 feet off the ground

Heck, That is the only reason I want these '67 thru '72 trucks is because you can load them and load them and they don't cry like new pickups! My brother and I use ours on the farm alot.......We haul cord wood out of the woods with his '69 C-10.......Heck, that has been overloaded alot and we use it like it is 4 wheel drive! Chain it up and it will make most new 4x4's look like cars. My brother hauled 14,000 of limestone(Plus the weight of the truck) on my GMC when we put in our swimming pool.........He said that it would have taken more but we didn't need that much. It was definitly squating but the old 305 V-6 hauled it home no problem! We could have never hauled near that with the F-350 t-tag we borrowed to help..........
