If I were to keep it 350 powered I would probably go that route. Few hundred
dollars more which in my world is a lot. :waah: But since a 455 might go in, a 200R4 would be another grand for enough upgrades to live behind a BB.
Be awesome but out of my reach for now. As it is I am always scanning the shop for things I can CL. To fund a project I should not really be doing.

X2. Something else, if you do weld up a couple of corners by the taillamps, you could always paint it semi gloss black at those body lines to lose the filler. That would look pretty good, and you wouldn't have to worry about matching the paint.

I don't know a whole lot about these cars, but isn't the Nova stuff pretty much a bolt in (interior, etc)? There are a ton of Nova stores; you might be able to do the interior and all pretty reasonably. I dig it!

Been messing around with paint on that idea, its a good one. Attachment 816032
Not sure if I would need to weld up seem? See RH vs. LH.
I have cloth inserts and have yet to see Nova covers that weren't all vinyl.

I was thinking like the LH. You could use the seam to break the paint, or just outside of it.

I keep looking at the pictures, looking at the car trying to come up with a plan in my head before (before is very important) I start cutting.
Have considered a 68-72 Nova bumper which is better looking but brings a set of issues with it. Lic plate, filler neck etc. "thinking!"

yhea those bumpers look alot better i kinda like the flip down lic plate to hide the filler neck the pontiac dosent have as much plastic filler panel as yours its only behind the bumper i think novas were the same. and the tail lites are a little nicer they look like 6os firebird leftovers but im not sure. one difference is mines a hatchback and my side markers look more forward than yours after the holidays its gonna get another go around frame ties bigger rad an mounting gauges in the dash eventully its getting mini tubs and a roll bar oh yhea and that thing they call a bumper

What year is your Ventura? I have a 72 with the same nose, but my tail lights are different. Are yours different because it's a Sprint? I've seen similar tail lights on the 73/74 Venturas tho.

NONHOG,
on your olds everyhting from the doors back will interchange with a nova. Front fender forfard will interchange with BOP cars. Get 67-72 rear bumper for that clean look.

Re: Flip Omega

yes it is a 73 everywhere i read for a sprint the grill shoulda been black idk if its been replaced or not the tail lites are cool but a little ruff aroun the edges i like pont406 front clip my opinion its the best looking for these cars would look great with a 70-73 camaro bumper the one piece not the split alot more slim but would need some kinda filler on the bottom some times i think these car were built with what ever was leftover layin around the factory

Tranny is back home. Had bigger issues, cost me $100.00 more than I planned. Whats new?
I forgot to tell them not to paint it. I hate silver painted aluminum. Probably easier to spray it than to clean it real good? (post pic later, something wont let me)

Just doubled the cost of the car.

I'm eyeing a Ventura nose on CL. Still thinking about the 68-72 rear bumper
swap as the fuel filler would be an issue. Might meld the 2 styles together?

Me too! The original 455 plan was to install it in my Cutlass. Since getting the Omega it just make too much sence to 455 the Omega instead.
Just found a guy parting out a 73 Omega a couple of miles away!
Hope to go check it out soon.
Meanwhile the T350 is waiting..........................

Thanks for all the reply's! Today saw some progress, I'm in super slo- mo due to some sleepless nights thanks to some weird eye allergy that makes me not be able to close my eyes w/o pain. :waah:
So the trans is back in and it went well until I bumped one of the u-joint caps and it tossed all but 2 needle bearings on the floor. Normally I'd replace the Ujoint but I'm waiting till the 455 goes in. For now I just want it to move.
Cleaning each needle bearing sucks! A couple bolts to install and add some fluid and it should move again.

Holidays, cold weather, bla bla bla  Flip Omega is still on jack stands.
However the trans is in and I think everything is hooked up and tight.
One more double check and its time to start it up and top off the ATF.
Toss the huge bumper back on and test drive it.
New plan is making it a "what if" car. What if Oldsmobile did a muscle version of the Omega? Going with Olds rally wheels and adding a 73 442 hood scoop.
That will really test my skills. :but:

my first car was a 73 omega, was bahama blue with white roof & blue rally's. It was a 350 rocket motor w/ 350 turbo. Loved that car and have many fond memories. It had a glitch in the seat belt light....when you shifted to L1 or L2 the Fasten Seat belt light would come on, my friends really loved that. I would race a guy from school at least once a week in a 68 impala SS 327. He never could get around me. Long live the Omega, I like the musclecar version of the Omega you are talking about. :mm:

I really like Nova's but couldn't stand them as a kid. Recall adding Yenko stripes on a friends 68. 1St car I ever drove in with a high stall convertor was a 69. I d like the unique quality of the Omega.

14" or 15"? I have only found the 14" ones, but I wanted 15". I found something close at Vintech, but I am no where near ready to spend that much.
