Well it has been awhile since I've posted. Took some time but I was able to complete the garage with some help from my Dad. It was built to the max size the city will allow, which isn't big enough. Anyway, it's time to bag a suburban! Plans are to lay out using full level 3 porterbuilt drop members, 22 inch transport wheels with stock hub caps, having the 292 freshened up and 700r4. Here are some pictures and I'll be posting more as I go.

At this point I was slowly raising the body to make sure everything was clear

Body is off and frame rolled back

Frame rolled back ready for fill dismantle

Tucking the 22s purchased from Alexander Speed. Lift was lowered as far as the lift arms would let me http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...ps2zqcbp0v.jpg
5 total wanted a spare

Took frame down to the rails then power washed using a hotsy. Currently waiting on porterbuilt and in the meantime I'll coat the frame and clean up the mess I've made over the past few days.

Nice suburban and shop!
Here in MI in most areas a garage cannot exceed the sq. ft. of the house.

Luckily we have a double lot so we could go max of 1200 sq. As long as it was connected. Otherwise, we could only use 30% of our back yard and peak of garage cannot exceed peak of house.

What's the plans for the 292? Maybe making it a street engine? Did it with mine. Great journey thus far. Nice project! :chevy:

I'm more of the cruising type. Plans are to freshen it up with new gaskets, valve seats and rings then paint it stock color. If it needs more when opened up then I'll go from there. It only has 48k on it and for the 3k I've driven it seems to get around pretty good. Just tired of the small seepage of oil making it all dirty! Your 292 looks great! What all have you done to it?

A ton. lol Fully custom rebuild.
Lump port head...1.94 intake 1.60 exhaust valves. Roller rockers. Bigger valve springs, Bored .040 over with custom ross pistons, comp cam, fully balanced, zero decked. all the good stuff. lol :chevy:

lol Not quite! The custom pistons make the compression at 9.5.1 and I didn't go to crazy on the cam..268 duration 218 @.050 .486 lift on a 110 lobe center. I'll be around 320 hp and 340 torque and $5000 perrty much covering it. Now if I went with 10.5.1 compression and a .550 lift cam I'd be seeing at around 350+ hp. lol
