I think I would be afraid of cracking the chrome tightening them as tight as I would want them on a frame.

I was worried about that too then once chrome cracks then it will rust in turn it defeats the purpose.

aggie91;That would look good. I like the yellow zinc that grade 8 comes with standard with the black. If you like the chrome, look into polished stainless fasteners too to compare costs.
The tensile strength on stainless is not comparable to Grade 8 being it is on the frame I want grade 8, but trust me I would love to run stainless.

Re: Carbon-10

There is a high strength stainless that is used for suspension parts. http://stainlessbits.com/link5.html

This place has complete kits for these trucks & here is more info on the high strenght SS:

Just curious, what size are the bolts you used to put it all together? Are they 3/8" or 7/16"?

I was able to mount my Air Zenith compressors using 2 factory holes in the frame but will have to drill two holes for the rear mounting bracket. Has anyone put a thick piece of rubber or urethane between the frame and the compressor to help insulate the vibration created by the compressor when running? and if so is it noticeably better?
