Came home about 15 miles with headers dumped through about 2 feet of pipe! http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps007f46c7.jpg Where the rest of the work is going to happen: http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...psad1010f1.jpg |
Re: Project Simple Green - Lucille - 1967 C10 Porterbuilt/AccuAir
Appears to have been a workhorse back in the day. Won't be needing the spare or overload spring anymore.
http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...psa77d94bd.jpg http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps639fd237.jpg Time to get to the rear suspension! Porterbuilt Stage 2 Basic (bolt-in notch, adjustable panhard bar, bags, cups, rear crossmember). Too sweet of a view, always good to step back and soak up a little sense of accomplishment (yeah taking the bed off is a milestone!). http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5eccb2d4.jpg Removing Old Rivets with an Air Chisel (best method by far IMO). Thanks to Porterbuilt for designing things such that they re-use old rivet holes! http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...psb7392649.jpg |

Re: Project Simple Green - Lucille - 1967 C10 Porterbuilt/AccuAir
Notch and Crossmember Installed (minus lower shock mount and Panhard Bar):
http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps35eb8753.jpg http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...psf8a301ff.jpg Rear Bag Installation: Due to the fittings that came with my PBFab/AccuAir package I had to modify the cups slightly. http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps642a6b6d.jpg http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9682914f.jpg BEFORE Porterbuilt Tank/Compressor Mount: http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9402fce8.jpg http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...pse82db6fd.jpg AFTER Porterbuilt Tank/Compressor Mount: (Temp Rear Air Plumbing sticking through in this shot. Hard to find a quick-connect schrader valve set-up. GET A COUPLE FROM AMAZON.com in advance and save yourself from some local begging which is what my Friday afternoon consisted of) http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...psd5bd5ad5.jpg Rear Done (Minus Lower Shock Bar): http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3da99a72.jpg Stage 2 Getting DOWWWWN! No bump stops, cheating a little!! I dont mind showing off my Year of Manufacturer Plate. SCDMV was awesome to deal with. I literally had the lady at the DMV on the phone while I was browsing eBay deciding which vintage plates I could use. I'd say "what about this?" and she'd yay or nay it. Pretty cool process. http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9f123afe.jpg |
Re: Project Simple Green - Lucille - 1967 C10 Porterbuilt/AccuAir
Front Bag Installation:
Just remove the u-bolts holding the inner shaft of the lower control arm, made it really easy. http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8f224c97.jpg http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...psde3f6447.jpg Go ahead and remove the lower bump stops, they will contact the bag! Got them off pretty easily with the air chisel after drilling the spot welds. http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...psaa007437.jpg http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4de76477.jpg Shock mounted: http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8dc4a944.jpg Front Aired Out: http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8335ac0f.jpg Ready to go get the exhaust on! |

Love it! I'm interested to see the headers you used that I think you said fit horribly?
