Straight 6 and 73-87 suspension components

Yeah, I saw the L6 fan protector. Lots of typical changes we see. I just added a couple.

I was finishing out the prior comment made by the other member to make a point. Reason was to show there are many changed things that don't match in years, but nothing to state it's not in fact a '67. The letters on this grille are later plastic ones mounted on a 68-70 grille. No offense, but that Pattson site is fairly lame, IMO. This site has the best knowledge on the internet on 67-72 GM Trucks. It's been a long time since I checked that site, but when I did - and saw all the inaccuracy - my though was they should have come here first and they would have gotten it right

Here are some shots of the truck in the tear down stages..
They really are pointing out the Rotted Floors, kick pan's on both sides of the cab. I also found alot of rot in the rockers (inner & outer) and all the cab braces....So I will have my fun cut out for me on the metal work :b69:

Thanks for letting me know about that site, first time for a GMC for us, so it's all a learning stage. You are correct about this site, lots of good info. People on here helped me a lot to figure out what front end they had installed and also on the rear axle....Jim

Engine wise it will be a 5.3L 4l60E combo and smoothed out body and full paint..

Mark...

That wouldn't be my choice but it's still a good choice. Not everyone shares my taste in trucks. It will make a fine daily driver.

Here are some updates for today...
Pic #1. drivers side inner & outer rocker, kick panel and cab brace.
Pic #2. same for passenger side with the floor pan as well..
Pic #3. The drivers side inner/outer removed..
Pic #4. The floor after the pan was cut out..

Any of the under lying metal that was still solid will be coated in (Eastwood Rust Encapsulator) This stuff work's really well and you don't have to wait 24hrs for it to fully cure..

Pic #4. After it came back from sand blasting..
