Basically, just replaced the speaker in the center of the dash with a small fan.
It's not tied into any original ductwork, just a fan pushing extra air to the windshield.
Cooling fans you find in computers and electronic gear, or used to find at Radio Shack :( Make sure they're 12 volt DC. Tapped into a power source (like cig lighter) and put a toggle switch under the heater controls.
I took a speaker sized piece of thin plywood, cut a circle out of it, and screwed the fan to it. Painted the top side black so you don't see it through the speaker grille slots on the top dash. I just kinda wedged, glued, and screwed the plywood into where the speaker was. This was done while the glove box liner and radio were not yet installed. I figured if there was no speaker there, why not use the space and existing dash slots for a center air supply. I just remember the times driving down the road, peeping through the two circles of a foggy windshield, wishing I had more vision.

Thanks.

Great idea with the carpet! That amp and speaker install is very clean and professional looking, good job. The floor matt install is top notch too!

I don't know. I hate to "crow" about my own stuff...But folks seem to notice/like
my under $50 wood bed floor.

I didn't think it would last. But I think its held up over three seasons of
light-moderate use.

Tonneau cover in the winter ...and tarps before top soil or mulch
goes in the bed in the spring.

Probably MY favorite mod was buying and tapping the mouse for RAT's air cleaner.
I'm goofy.

Your truck is gorgeous! More pics please!

As you know these dually's never had any bed on them so this was the best solution I could come up with as I really didn't want to plop a flat bed on there.
Sorry no pics here, I do have it documented in my build thread "Meet Homer".

Home today (off on Fridays :metal:) so here's pics of my best mods so far.

They are outdoor patio speakers made by yamaha. I like them cuz they were the right size with the bracket and everything. 6" high. There is a sweet spot under there where u can mount them and your seat can still move fully back and forth without hitting them.Measured 10 times but still wasn't confident so I used 2 way tape on the brackets to floor mount but it was all good and the tape was so strong I'm going to leave it like that. Sounds great to me salesman argued a little bit with me about these being 4 ohms and my amp was 8 ohms or the other way around auto verses home apparently , I seldom answer that question "whats it for". I bought them from 2001 audio and video in Ontario for 139.00 . regular 199.00 on sale 159.00. Talk him down 20 bucks probably why he had attitude. Oh well.

My favorites are my Trex bed and cup holder. Nothing compared to the engineering & fabrication skills some of you all have but practical and fun to build.

Your truck is very well done! The stance is perfect. What power windows are you using? was the install hard?

Thanks much.

http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog.aspx

A friend gave these to me as a present. A very nice present.

I have arms like hams. So, it was harder for me than it would be for a normal sized person. When you have the windows out,
and they haven't been for a good, long time, it's always a good idea to change out the felt runners and the rain "wipers" or what
ever you call them.

The electrical was simple. The only thing is remembering how the wing windows come out, the windows go in, and getting the
runners on their ramps.

Very do-able.

Back in '84, before I found a factory 67-72 tach, I adapted a factory tach out of a 1965? C80.

I also adapted a factory tach out of a '75 V8 Monza, but it is long gone and I never took a pic of it.

If you PM me your snail mail addy, I'll send you an oil gauge. I've got an extra.
If you want one, that is.

I very much appreciate the offer on the oil gauge, but I've got some. This dash has been sitting on the shelf since I got a factory 67-72 tach. Thanks again.

I welded over the rectangular holes for the side marker lights and installed oval LED's. I also modified the tail lights for solid LED's. Doing that did away with the backup lights, so the round lights next to the license plate are tied to a toggle on the dash.

I did a lot of mods...
Custom aluminum work, rear fenders (made from the same aluminum sheet)
Turned '71 fenders into '67s.
