I ran the numbers and it is actually a 402 out of a 1970 Chevelle badged as a 396. The heads came back as LS Corvette heads. After installing, the engine started right up, did a little fine tuning and it sounds great, like a 70 Chevelle would. LOL!

If you want the aged distressed look, I know how they do it. Prep the truck as you would any ordinary paint job. Lay down the paint with one thin tack coat and 1 color coat, no more than that. Let it cure real good in the sun.
The aged distressed look will come from a buffer and compound. Simply burn through the paint and into the primer. Maybe even get into the metal here and there. This always looks natural if you do it in normal high wear spots like corners, rounded fender tops, creases and natural curves. You could even scuff it deliberately here and there.
The dull look is in the clear coat. There is a frost additive which makes for a nice dull effect. Problem is, the clear coat is a tell tale sign that it is not natural at all.....

It's been sitting unfortunately, my Mustang came back from paint and I needed to re-assemble that...which is taking longer than I wanted...life gets in the way a little bit...but i've still got it and still gonna finish it.

I keep thinking i'd like to make it into a race truck.
Something like either of these:
