Re: 67-72 Bench seat lowering brackets ??
Just stumbled across the thread anyone install anymore? Would like to see some more pictures of this installed on a stock bench. Installed new foam from PUI now my head is almost against the roof and getting my leg under the wheel is little snug.:waah:

Does anyone know if there is a set made for the buckets?
Does it actually move the seat BACK at all or just down? Isn't much room to go back... |

Re: 67-72 Bench seat lowering brackets ??
I liked these a lot more before they cut the FCF logo into them. I'm not a huge fan of the current trend of laser cutting company logos into everything. Looks cheap.

I hear ya there. I could never see through the rear view mirror right. Possibly because of the seat height. I wonder if these can be ordered without the logo.

Hard to tell in the installed pics but do you lose your adjusting slide rail?
|
Re: 67-72 Bench seat lowering brackets ??
The only way to adjust is loosening the bolts and push the bench fwd or bwd an inch or so

I'm also interested in if they will fit that popular conversion. The 90's seat conversion. My bad on fat fingers meant popular not polar. Lol
|
Re: 67-72 Bench seat lowering brackets ??
Have not heard of polar conversion. It worked for my original bench. I'm going to wait before I decide to take my bench out and cut the foams. I think with a little time the foams will settle and hoping to get one more inch of drop. The 2 inches that it lowers definately made a difference.

Once they are installed it is hard to see FCC logo cut into the brackets unless you are looking for them.

I have the brackets work very well. On a side note I'm looking for this seat cover for my truck. I couldn't find it last summer when I did my trucks seat ended up with white houndstooth.this is the seat cover I replaced

Would the cab gas tank affect anything. I really want to delete the cab tank. This would be a perfect excuse.

Re: 67-72 Bench seat lowering brackets ??
Interesting modification for the bench seats.
The ability to slide the seat forward or back is lost...accessing the jack and handle could be a problem? :hmm: By the looks of the photo comparing the OE to the new brackets, it looks like you lose half of the mounting bolt positions to the floor and the seat frame? Is that correct? |
Re: 67-72 Bench seat lowering brackets ??
Yep. Definate downsides.

Re: 67-72 Bench seat lowering brackets ??
Not to mention less room for under seat speakers

I like the comfort - and for my size, the seat never moves and I have it all the way back anyway..

Another option would be a folding bench seat. I lost the in cab tank so speakers are going behind the seat.
