Ok. Your top coat looks great. Maybe I will go with Eastwood chassis black then. Is it thick? I hate thinning to spray but I won’t brush it on...must be sprayed. What psi did you use for the chassis black? I used por15’s high build primer tonight as a tie coat between the base por15 and the top coat which will be the Eastwood chassis black.

No thinning nesscary spray right out of can hvlp gun 12 psi max for me

Zicc. I’m but no means any sort of painter. I’m having a tough time getting consistency with the Eastwood chassis black. Yours came out perfect. So I set the regulator at the gun to 12 or the regulator at the compressor to 12? Also, when applied, do you lay enough on that it all looks shiny, or do you try and lay it on so it’s really thin and appears flat? I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong (well at least one thing is for sure I had the pressure WAY too high) but I’m getting basically flat and shiny spots.

Does the chassis saver say no reducer? How thick is it? I usually reduce 10% or more depending on how thick it is out of the can. Light to Heavy cream in consistancy, Hang some paper on the wall for practice before you lay it down on your frame, it should be decent 8"-10" fan.

Ok. I’ll practice a bit. It says it’s ready spray out of the can. It’s fairly thin. I’d say more like the consistency of water.

Also alot of good youtube clips, Eastwood included, may help dial in your spray gun.

sorry just saw this ...and im not an expert by no means my 2cents get that pressure at the gun btween 8 -10 when you spray it on it looks glossy and you need to practice on something its how close you are 6 -8 inches away its the gun and nozzle size I think I used a 1.2 you don’t thin it anymore its already thin enough I know its a PITA but you can scuff it and re spray it... as NOTSOLO says there are some good videos on eastwood and utube im again Im not a painter just been spraying my own stuff started again after taking 30 years off ....work kids and stuff got in the way...and sprayed lacquer or Imron back then (dating myself ) wish could help more..... youll get the nac the por 15 you put on looks great dont be affraid to put some more pics up

Pretty excited because I finally get to start reassembling! Got the front end mounted today and started on the drop disk brake spindles. Even got the rear axle, trailing arms, and power steering box mounted up. I’ve been pushing it the last couple nights!

Very light flash rust you can use white vinegar it will kill rust and turn black

Getting there. Too bad it’s all getting covered up by other stuff. Can’t believe the transformation. Hate that my phone always decides to orient the pics the most inconvenient way.
