I should have some pics tomorrow Sid the exhaust manifolds were off a 2000 Corvette that we have on the 46 |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Thanks axel! Have any more pictures of those manifolds? I've been looking at pictures of 2000 Vette manifolds and yours seem different than those I've seen on google images. I think if I get the exact same ones you have, they will work perfect for me.
Cheers! |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
I will see if I have any close pics of the Pass and drivers side

Well 80% of the sheet metal is "Blue"
I can't say I am totally happy with the results ! All I can see is a whole lot of color sanding, and the painter brought it up so I don't have to ask him if he is going to cut and buff everything |

Sid, here are a couple pics, let me know if you need a different view

Re: Arizona Steel 46
Paint looks awesome! Looks darker when looking from different angles. Just not happy about having to colour sand?
Those manifolds look like sheet metal or fabricated as opposed to cast. Man they tuck in nice and close to the block. Did they not have any heat shields? I don't want to take over your build thread with these manifold questions but I really would like to figure out exactly what they are. Have a god holiday! |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Well at least I can look at the engine while I have it here at home, so ask away!
I will be delivering the rolling chassie to the painter next week so HE can do the assembly! We gave the truck to him all mocked up and I told him I wanted it back just like this ONLY blue! With the speed of light he works at I do not expect to see it back here for at least 60 days so I can finish the wiring and drive ability issues and off to Upholstery Jail! How is everything in the K-W area of Ontario? |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
And a beautiful clean engine and chassis. By K-W area do you mean Kitchener Waterloo? That's about 3-4 hrs west of me. Weather has been starting to get warmer with more sun.

I've spent hrs looking for those manifolds and come up empty. If you had anymore insight on them, i'd appreciate it. Have a great 4th of July! |

Re: Arizona Steel 46
Well that is what the guy told me!
Yes one of them had a heat shield. We removed it and ground off the attachments and had them coated Old Yelr may have something KW is where my family is from, 4 generations, I have been down South West for the past 65 years, don't get back much anymore so I guess this is home for me We don't shovel sunshine and the cars don't rust, and it is a dry heat in June! |

He says he wants to drive it for his birthday on Sept 11 He may be able to drive it out of the shop but it will still need more work |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Looking awesome, love the color. What kind of deal is that for powering the E-brake?
|
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Home made !
200# and two inch stroke electric, enough to tighten the Wilwood parking brakes |

Re: Arizona Steel 46
Well we drove it out of the garage and on to the trailer under it's own power and today we took it to the front shop for alingnment to correct the spec instructions on the upper
A arms. it came with O camber and 6* castor but the shop said it had 1 1/2* N camber and 4* castor by the instructions my toe was bye "eye balling" so that did not count! |

Re: Arizona Steel 46
Right on solid! You must have sent some of that AZ heat up here! Frig it's hot. You must be pumped seeing it's on it's own power.
|
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Thanks Sid, Yes now I can get on with the next project
We do not want to hog all of the 100* days, we like to share! |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Great News...
I wish I was closer I just wanna ride in that for a little bit... I'm sure there's still some details to work out but it's got to make you feel good to be done by Sept 11th |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Truck looks great! Vette on the lift does too. Been way too hot here too...killer with the humidity. Dreaming of ac in the shop.
|
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Well still sorting out the break issue...................Can not stop with Wilwood brakes!
Everything is brand new Willwood at the wheels double 7" booster 1" master cylinder Solid peddle no air in system, even with HOT pads I am not able to slide the tires |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Hey the build looks great.
Would you be able to post any photos of how you mounted the seat? |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
I do not have a pic of the hinge but it was a simple hard ware store door hinge welded to the seat frame and the bolted to the front of the existing seat riser.
his would let you fold the back part and then raise the seat forward to access the cavity under the seat. The seat was from a Dodge Caravan third seat |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
What is the dash cluster and do you have some better pics of it?

Changed the front and rear pads to another Wellwood number, don't remember which one, it does "Stop" a little better when it gets some heat in them, Next we changed out the booster to a double 7" ,and at least we can feel them stopping! I guess the next step will be to change the master cylinder to a 15/16" |
Re: Arizona Steel 46
Did Wilwood have any advice?
|
