Re: 1995 GMC Sierra K1500 joins the family.
Alan do you mind measuring your fender heights for me? Just to the bottom of the stainless trim in the middle of the fender? Also those are 285/75/16 tires correct?
Thanks a bunch in advance |

Here ya go measured from the bottom of the chrome trim. 6"/front and 8"rear. I mentioned before about the suspension lift. There are 2" blocks in the rear and torsion bars are twisted up in the front.

I just bought a 94 GMC Z-71 for my youngest daughter and was just checking this section out. I have never had a reason to be up here in this "newer " section of the forum..:gmc2: I was afraid that i would be lonely away from the 60-66 guys..... |

Attachment 834801 Out for a test drive in the desert. This truck should not take so much work as the 64.

Re: 1995 GMC Sierra K1500 joins the family.
Go blow the carbon out of it. I remember my grandma doing that in her 69 Camaro. :haha:
BTW, what's an Italian tuneup? :uhmk:[/quote] About the same thing Blowing the carbon out at full throttle like an Italian driver.. . Personally I never met any Italians yet but That is how my friend refers to a "drive it like you stole it " adventure. I picked up a EGR gasket tonight, I will pull it apart this weekend and clean up the EGR. I noticed a vac line broken off from the charcoal vapor canister also. I will head to the Pick a part this weekend and score another one. |

Re: 1995 GMC Sierra K1500 joins the family.
I'm wondering if it would be worth it to swap in a 5.3? I can get a complete 5.3 with accessories and harness for $425. Just wondering what other expense would be involved. Fuel, PS, old 4L60 hookup, exhaust.
If there is a good thread where someone else has done it ease LMK. I'll do some searching. Posted via Mobile Device |

Hard to say Alan. Uniqness probably. More power or value, I am not sure if it would be worth all the changes.
