Thanks for the info and fast reply! Any pics of the install or was it just a simple bolt in? I've got access to an 81 C10 which also has a cable so I'm not sure which one I'll end up with. Probably the easiest one to install since I'm not really set up for much fab work right now.

Here you are, really not much fabbing to do, instead of spending 30 on a spacer I made one. All I had to do is drill two holes for the pedal holder and one for the cable.

Here's a part number for the cable you will need, Stainless Steel Housing TC-1000HT, Black SS Housing XTC-1000HT, and Black Housing TC-1000U. You will also need a throttle cable mount. You can go on to WWW.Lokar.com for those. T.J.

Dang man! this thing is getting nice! Love the blue i always wished i had a can of blue paint in my hand when i started on my 64 lol! I think if i could do it again since i'm already doing a blue truck is satin black with a silver roof like how the white is on the 64. Then do the inside gloss black and silver. I wish i had your parts truck! my next dream is a 63 chevy 3/4 ton 2wd long bed step side with an org auto trans. Maybe then i can buy a car for a project get these dam trucks out of my system haha...

Thanks Man! Yeah it was hard parting out the 64, my original plan was a full resto for it, but for some reason we always need more and more of this $$$$, Why is that???:lol::lol: There was a 62 according to your specs for sale here 4 years ago.....Anyway I know of EVERY 60's truck in Medford, Grants Pass and Cave Junction, so I'll keep my eyes pealed. Reason beiing is I have literally called every stinkin junk yard in Oregon! HAHAH! And on our roads it is never a suprise to see one driving or one sitting. There's a 63 that's been sitting for 8 years and hasn't moved an inch and the owner still won't sell it! Believe me, if you buy a nice parts truck like the 64, you will be crying when you use it for parts!

For Dillon Rock. I don't think you will want these. Bious tires are scary brand new let alone this old, and radial tires are scary when they dry rot! And UGH! Split rims!

The truck looks great. I like your mod to use the lokar gas pedal. I have been wondering about that and now that I've seen yours I just might go for it.

The truck is looking good. There are a bunch of early trucks scattered around cave junction and obrien. You are in parts truck heaven.

Thanks! Only seen a few around. Maybe I should hunt a little harder. Problem is no-one wants to sell them! I've seen 4 trucks sit for eight years and the owner says "One day I'll restore it". Then when he decides he's not going to he says "5,000 for it, can't find many of these! It's a classic". Drives me nuts why people think something is worth its weight in gold when it scrap metal! Anyway thanks for the compliments! T.J.

Well my BRAND NEW 600 cfm Edelbrock started seeping fuel from the accelerator pump and through the gasket. So I am going to do an exchange and hope the new carb doesn't leak. Darn shame when you buy a new carb and barely put 30 miles on it and it starts leaking! Guess it is a sign of the times....I'll post updates when I put the new carb on and see what happens!:chevy:

Re: Project two tone.

DAM that sucks i feel ya the first 2bbl carb i got for the 230 had striped out threads in the inlet line for the fuel and start spewing gas everywhere when i fired it up.

Re: Project two tone.

sorry to hear about the carb! quick question, are your front fenders new? and if so, where did you get them? I've been thinking of buying new front fenders this yr.

NEWFISHER 11-03-2013 07:47 PM

Re: Project two tone.

Once switched from the single or 2 bbl carb to the 4bbl, did you always run a 600cfm or did you start with the 390?

Yeah, before I got the 4 barrel I was running a 350 holley two barrel. Either I blew both the power valves or something else was srewed, cause sometimes it would work great and other times not.

WOW! WOW! I must be a good painter! HAHAHAHA!!! No they are oem off my 64 donor truck, funny though one of them has some rot out in the usual spot. Can't see it in the picture I suppose.

I started with a 350 cfm holley 2 barrel, then I went to the 600 cause I got the 4 barrel intake and headers.

A great hei is the Davis Unified ignition. You can purchase them at Precision Automotive Specialists. They run $300 I believe but deliver 50,000 volts!

I would find a set of nos or look for a same year donor truck with fenders that are in good shape. Reason is cause the re-pop fenders are made to fit the 60-66 chevy trucks. When I installed my oem fender from my 64 onto my 66 some of the holes were waaaay outta line. I would find fenders off a same year parts truck.:chevy:
