Yes Thank You BP68 for the intial post on these I've had the Push On version for a while now and they've been popular with many but I've never been able to get a wide customer review of them after the purchase and you intial post started one.
LOL 67 Cheby, but come on they are Push On door opening weatherstrip just hank those old ones off and put the new ones on then when you need to repair or paint something pull em off and after done just put them back on and you'll seal out all those drafts & road noise. :>)
ledzepp Thanks!! I've heard basicly the same from anyones who's ever used them and I won't use anything else myself I"M GLAD TO BE RID OF THE GLUE and its associated problems!!

Paul,

Are the push on style seals available for 63-66's? I didn't see them online.

Thanks,

John

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

John AKA lakeroadster I'm sorry but we only currently have these for the 67-72 trucks, I don't own a 60-66 myself so I haven't had a truck I could use to test the various profiles of this push on style door opening weatherstrip on. If there are any 60-66 owners near Rockville that are willing to let me use there truck to develop this same weatherstrip for the 60-66 series I'd be more than willing to give a free set of push on door weatherstrip to them once I was able to determine the best profile seal to have them made from that worked to seal out the elements while not causing any problems closing the doors.

I here ya. I had one helluva time getting the glued on ones off my '65. I will be needing to replace them so I'll be following your lead on this.

So the doors close ok and seal up good with the 67-72 push-on seals?

Just ordered a set this morning...can't wait to install them! Thanks GMC Paul
Recieved my door seals and installed them, they went on great, the only problem that I would like to mention is on a tight corner while pushing them on to fit tight the metal popped through the rubber, small area but still exposed the internal metal. Other than that they are great. Mines a weekly driver, so all is good.

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

Thank you for the reply. I no longer need the door seals, so a kit isn't going to work.

I have a "Custom Deluxe", here's what I'm looking at now:

8 Piece Door Window Seal Kit For Custom & CST Trucks 280037
Includes inner felts with Chrome Bead, outer rubber seal, Division Bar Felt,&Door Glass Channel Run For Both Doors Used On CST & Custom Pickup, Suburban & Panel. LIFETIME WARRANTY.
$69.95

67-72 Division Bar Felt 360342
1967-72 Door division bar felt runs down back side of vent window bar from top at door upper frame to bottom inside door. For truck, Blazer, Jimmy, Suburban, Panel.
$12.00

67-72 Glass Run Channel 360346
1967-72 Door glass run channel, extends from inside door bottom at back of window up the rear glass run area and across top of door upper frame and ends at division bar. For Truck, Suburban & Panel.
$10.95

- Questions -
1) Are all rubber products manufactured by Precision?
2) For the 8 piece above (280037), it says "outer rubber seal", but the 4 piece anti-rattle kit (371090) says "2-outer rubber seals with chrome top bead" is included. Is there a difference for Custom Deluxe models, and why wouldn't the 8 piece kit contain outer rubber seals with "chrome top bead"?

4 Piece Custom & CST Door Window Anti-Rattle Kit 371090
For 1967-72 Truck, Blazer, Jimmy, Suburban&Panel. Includes 2-inner felts with chrome top bead, 2-outer rubber seals with chrome top bead, at bottom of window inside and out, does both doors. LIFETIME WARRANTY.
$39.95

Thanks

All the rubber is supplied by Precision in this kit. The part # 280037 do have a chrome top bead attached to the 2-outer rubber scrappers and the 2-inner felts in this kit. Its just not in that description and I'll see about getting it added. The division bar felts do not have chrome beads. The division bar felt was installed at GM assembly plant then they crimped a chrome bead onto the rear edge of the vent window assemblies division bar surrounding metal inside & out. When they did this they often trapped a portion of the division bar felt under the edge of this chrome bead. So when removing the division bar felt to replace it run a razor blade along the edge of the chrome bead on the felt side of it this will cut any felt trapped allowing you to remove the division bar felt liner for replacement.
The part # 280037 includes 2 division bar felts and 2 glass run channels so if you only have the 1 truck there is no need to add the part #'s 360342 division bar felt or Part# 360346 glass run channel.
we use a Part # 371090 + 2- Part # 360342 & 2 part # 360343 to make our Part # 280037 kit.

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

I bought these kits, liked all of it and fit was good. The only thing I did was cut my outside window seal to short, I did not consider going past the wing division bar another 1/4 inch to seal that little area.

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions! Really appreciate it! I know about the felt being trapped beneath the chrome on the division bar! I just finished sandblasting mine and noticed how some got trapped in that seam. The blaster cleaned it up good for me. Once I get organized, I'm going to buy from GMC Paul! Thanks again!

Got mine today--won't install for while but Paul my question is in the sharp corner of upper front --is there a trick to install in that area-no prebend in these so I was just curious---Shipping was super fast and where were these on my last 20 trucks???? lol.....thanx again.......jim

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

jtp67-72
I would say just go slow and make sure it's tight push hard down to set as you go around that part keep the loose end pushing towards the part your pressing in the slot. The edges will seem so curl up as you go around corner so I used a very small screw driver to pull the lip up over the edge. Kinda hard to explain and the small loop wire inside the edgeing will tend to poke through, I just used the scew driver to lift edge and the wire will go back into the seal. You can use maybe stiff plastic so not to damage paint. It will be a little kinked at the 45 degree but as you shut the door it smooths out.
When you get to the end I cut it a little long then cut the bottom and used the extra rubber on top to tuck into where you began.

aventure1 check the ends of the door seal where they meet under the door seal plate and make sure if they are touching that you cut a 45 degree angle on either end, if they touch and no 45 degree cut is made on either end it makes it more diificult for the air in the bulbous portion of seal to escape which will cause the doors to close slightly harder than is required. This is recommend in the factory service manual per GM.

I've tried Every profile of push-on weatherstrip thats currently produced and the version we sell for the 67-72 had the best fit on the 60-66 trucks but in my opinion they required slightly more effort than I felt should be needed to close the door, altough in my opinion the stock 60-66 seals do also require the same or nearly the same amount of pressure to close the door. So I was not able to come up with any for the 60-66 trucks thats perfect for them I'm sorry to say. We've had several 60-66 owners purchase the 67-72 push on door seal and they were happy with them but we will not be marketing them as a product for the 60-66 trucks.
Sorry I didn't have positive news for you.

They are in a sealed package that is drop shipped from a warehouse. After you install them it will take you all of 30 seconds to cut a V channel in them.

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

I got some of these for my truck. Just installed them last night, WOW, what a breeze... Years ago I put a set if the glue-on types on a truck and I'll never do it again. These slide on easy, and do not fall off. I was impressed at how they conformed to the tight corner at the top of the door.

The only problem I have is the doors don't want to shut. But, the ends of the stripping are butted up flush right now, I'll try cutting a notch out of them to see if it helps. Other than that, these things are AWESOME.

GMCPaul 12-10-2012 03:50 PM

Re: GMC paul door seals are great!

These are not drop shipped we ship them direct from our warehouse in Indiana. they do come to us pre-packaged though. It only takes a few seconds with a pair of side cuts or a razor knife to cut the bulb portion of seal at either end where they meet under the door sill plate. DEFINATELY MAKE THIS CUT, by cutting it it tnen allows the seal to properly release the trapped air when closing the door. SO DO NOT JUST BUTT THE ENDS TOGETHER WITHOUT CUTTING THEM unless you want your doors to close HARD.
GM instructs you in the 67-72 Truck Service Manuals to also perform this cut when installing the seals even if there is a minor gap where ends meet and they also state the reason for this is to provide air passage.
