Yeah...dull,like the rest of the truck. If you can't find crusty old ones maybe you can dump battery acid on 'em or something that likes to eat metal. Maybe bead blast. There's an art to patina. So elegant in a crusty way

Another idea would be dull driver quality wheel covers with whitewalls. But,I suggest leaving the tires somewhere dogs will pee on them so they'll uh...yellow. HEY! I said there's an art to patina, didn't I??

I've been searchin' my yard and the only thing I can find with dog piss are slotted mags or rallies, let me see. :uhmk:

#4 slots.....

Re: Patina, patina, patina.....70' swb

Such a hard choice, but I'd be leaning toward the slots. I guess it just depends on what you are planning to do with the truck.

Well, okay I'll probably go with the slots and a 3/5 drop, but I have to have them polished first (don't tell Tim special k, he want's them dull) and unfortunately I have only a set of 8's, I rather have 8's and 10's so tomorrow the rallies will be temporarily going on, but here's a teaser photo with the doggies.:chevy:

Normally I prefer doggie style, but a man of your means should be doing nothing less than a $4,000 set of billets.

Cant wait to see what you do with this one. Love the polished slots. I need to find a set for my truck.

special-K 12-28-2011 09:34 AM

Re: Patina, patina, patina.....70' swb

Alright, polished is ok...I guess. I love hub caps (blackwall) and wheel covers (whitewall) but this truck needs something to look like it's been on there a long time. Can't go wrong with 8" rallyes. With dog dish the wheels would need painted, unless you had skanked out 8"ers off a 4wd. Painted Medium Olive would look good. I just think the wheels need patina, too. No doubt, any of your choices will look great (and it's none of my business if someone wants to go out and put wheels & tires on their truck to make it look like their truck needs a paint job and all new trim so their truck will match the wheels )
