I would like to know if this is aired out or ride height or aired up?

Also how do you go about Alignment? That question is for anyone that can answer, Thanks.

Subscribing, just got mine looking to do some air ride but do not want it to lay frame. I think a kit like this would be perfect for what I am looking for.

Re: How to on our inexpensive airride kit

Good write up. Thanks for sharing the pics. Looks good but I have two questions.

How does it ride?

And. Does the front airbag rub on the lower control arm? That looks like a less than ideal angle????

Oldtruckfanatic 07-29-2014 07:19 PM

Re: How to on our inexpensive airride kit

Those bags are deflated so it looks odd. The bags do touch the control arm on the inside it cant really be avoided with this kind of setup but as long as its not chaffing the bag it doesnt cause any issues. I have driven thousands of miles on a setup like this with little more than a shiny spot where the bag touches and no damage to the bag at all. The bags should be set up to be nice and straight and parallel at your intended ride height so theres usually some misalingnment at full inflation because of the way the arm pivots. Nothing beats the ride quality of a properly set up air ride system. I know you were asking the original poster but I have installed this kit and it is a nice setup for the budget.

Where do you guys run the air lines out of the front bags? and where do they go into the cab?

we run them through the cross member to the driver side and exit the cross member under the frame rail and run it through an existing hole in the firewall near the steering column

Re: How to on our inexpensive airride kit

Do you need to drill a hole in the cross member or do you come out where the arm meets the frame? So you run it along the bottom of the frame? I want to keep them away from the headers and stuff. Thanks.

Re: How to on our inexpensive airride kit

I'm very interested in this kit as well. What does the $1k get me? Just curious what is included in the kit. I went on the website and it looks like the paddles have the valves built into them?

Do you have any diagrams of how to plumb and wire up the kit? The pictures and write-up are great and I'm looking forward to doing this on my '69 C20 asap.

How does this kit differ from the $850 ebay kits that are claimed to be a direct bolt-on setup for 63-72 C10's with dual compressors, tank, bags, switches, valves, etc?

(Please refrain from flaming me for asking the question, but I do think it's a valid one for me and any other members really trying to learn the differences in all the 'kits' out there.)

unfortunately this is a very old thread and this price no longer applies. I'd be happy to price out any components you like however I couldn't compare it to the eBay kit because I've not seen it. The plumbing is simple and I can supply a diagram, the only wiring is for the compressor and relay, the valves are fully pneumatic

you can keep the drums if you don't use drop spindles but you'll lose 2.5" of easy drop

you can do the flip, longer shackles and a bag off the axle or just do a four link

Looking for this kit for my 1964 c10. If I convert to 2.5 drop spindles (disc brakes) is it wise to run the 5" round weld in cups for the lower A arms you sell or are they not needed since I'll use this kit with drop spindles??? Thanks

BTW I want this same drop here!! I think you did this one.. Correct??
