I am going to get to that trip idea soon. I have a silent partner that you also know that has some great ideas and information.

I have so much regular customer builds going now, it is hard to make time to work on experiments.

Thanks for the compliments,
Tom

Can you send some photos of what you have to tbonegarris@yahoo.com

I would appreciate it and also let me know what you want for all of it. If you want to post photos on the forum here, that is OK also.

Thank you very much,

ttt,

Thank you to all of you that have bought a restored cluster or had me restore your own. I appreciate the business very much.

Please continue to contact me for all of your cluster needs. I also do other cluster work on a variety of vehicles.

Fun photo of the bezel collection :) (I just threw most of them out due to being cracked).

I have a large inventory of individual parts also. Contact me with your needs.

Thank you,
Tom

TTT,

Here is one with a tach and vacuum that shows some of the quality of the work produced by Classic Gauge and Cluster. It belongs to a customer but I can build them just like it. This one has a NOS circuit board (getting real hard to find now). Also I am using brass nuts on all of my builds. Just some extra touches I like to add.

Thank you for looking,
Tom

As most of you may know, I have been focusing my attention lately on beginning a business in gauge cluster restoring and reconditioning...

The service includes:
A new aftermarket chrome with black bezel.
9 new 168 bulbs...

I thought our dashes used 194 bulbs?

Thanx Dano

They do Dano and it is your choice actually. I like to offer the #168 bulbs because most people complain that the #194 is not quiet bright enough for them. The #168 bulbs are a little brighter.

Thank you,
Tom

Re: Reconditioned gauge Clusters F/S

I have a factory tach cluster that i would like to have redone. What kind of price to start with just to clean everything up? I inderstand a base price would not include things like a new circuit board or replacement gauges if required.

WIDESIDE72 01-24-2014 04:10 AM

Re: Reconditioned gauge Clusters F/S

Also, do you offer the option of changing from the factory amp gauge to a volt gauge?

Steve,

My base price is $200.00 to restore your tach cluster. The service includes glass beading and painting all tin work, painting all of the needles on the gauges, clean, wet sand and polish the lens (if it has good lettering). I also clean and inspect the circuit board and install new bulbs.

You will be very happy with the work and I will stand behind what I do.

Extras include any parts, as you mentioned. If the tach face is bad, that is $75.00 extra. If you want the odometer/speedometer reset and calibrated that is an extra $60.00.

I have never changed the battery/amp gauge to a volt gauge. Do you have a gauge in mind that might work? I can see some modifications will most likely need to be made to the rear tin and the lens graphics for this to look and function correctly. The wiring should be simple.

Let me know. I have 4 builds currently plus 3 on the way and the day job. I could get it done by the middle of march if you are interested.

Take care,
Tom

Hi Tom,
You do fantastic work. I would be interested in a tach, vacuum cluster. Can you give me info on cost, please. Really like what you showed in the photos of the Classic Gauge and Cluster example. I'm interested in having LED bulbs in the cluster - looking for a dimmable type (been doing research - looks like the refractor type are bright and dimmable).

I have a 72 it currently does not have tach or vacuum gauge.

Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,

Thank you for the comment. I sent you a PM. Get with me and let me know if I can help you. Thank you for the LED information.

Please go to the Vendors Market Place or click on the link in my signature and check out the Web site for Classic gauge and Cluster.

I appreciate any feed back good or bad. We are probably not going to have specific pricing. The pricing will be based on individual customer needs. I appreciate all of the business I have got from all of you.

Please keep me in mind for a build from my inventory or a restoration of your cluster.

Take care,
Tom

Tbone, have you seen THIS thread? Have you given any thought to building this type electronic speedo clusters for the electronically controlled transmission trucks?

Yes sir, I think a lot about doing something like that. So far, I have had no time to work on the idea. I guess that is a good thing.

If I do something like that it will have to be a method that is quick and repeatable. I would also need to have access to all of the parts needed. I guess I am thinking have a set up that is ready to install in a customer cluster when they are ready for it rather than have someone wait for months each time.

TTT,

Ask me about restoring your gauge cluster. There are also many options to a standard restoration. Ask me for details on your specific needs.

Thank you to all for your business. I appreciate all of it.
