No not really. The top back of the bench just about touches the back of the cab under the window. Doesn't really affect the fuel tank

Interesting modification for the bench seats.
The ability to slide the seat forward or back is lost...accessing the jack and handle could be a problem? :hmm:
By the looks of the photo comparing the OE to the new brackets, it looks like you lose half of the mounting bolt positions to the floor and the seat frame?
Is that correct?

Yep. Definate downsides.

Not to mention less room for under seat speakers

I bought this cover from carsinc.com. Pricey but happy with the quality. They have it in a few colors and uses new old stock cloth.

Thanks you for the info

No problem. They also took probably 8 weeks to get it to me as they make them to order.

Yes you do loss two bolts each side. But that would be for stability of the OEM seattracks. There are downsides but if your head hits the roof and your looking out the tinted band they are negligible.

I like the comfort - and for my size, the seat never moves and I have it all the way back anyway..

Another option would be a folding bench seat. I lost the in cab tank so speakers are going behind the seat.

2 Attachment(s)
I just installed mine this past weekend. Wish I had done it months ago when I first bought them. After I redid my bench seat I was looking through the top of the windshield. I now have over FOUR inches of headroom (5'8").

As always, I still wish I could have 1 more inch of leg room, but without a thinner seat that's not possible.

I have a cool set of box speakers I can't find anymore (look like these) behind the seat. They were so old the speakers blew, so I took them apart and swapped speakers out. My tank has long been out of the cab.

The under seat space thing does suck a bit. All I could get under there was my jumper cable bag.

I didn't realize at first you lost a couple mounting bolts as well, but once installed it feels solid and doesn't move. If you really wanted to, I guess you could order a 2nd set.

And you can't see the logo when installed.

The full custom fabrication seat lowering brackets are legit. I just installed some on my 68 gmc and put together a video showing how it’s done. Hope y’all will check it out if you’re thinking of buying these brackets.

I just dropped my bench off to get upholstered so measuring the current bracket height might be difficult. I see there are two different sizes to buy, what are the differences between the "short" and "tall"?

This is right from the Full Custom website:

**READ THIS** These seat brackets are for lowering the stock bench seat in your 60-66/67-72 Chevy C-10 truck 2". There are two different height factory brackets, so you will need to measure the rear stand, "short" set is aprrox 5", "tall" set is approx 7"(see additional photos) so that you can order the correct set. The lower mounts are slotted to allow adjustment from all back to an 1 1/2" forward position. Install new brackets to seat using the outer holes on each side, with tabs to outside. CNC plasma cut from 12 gauge steel, quality powder coated satin black. sold as a pair.

Question, the lowering brackets take away the ability to adjust the seat backward or forward, or do they bolt to the slider?

It's fixed...you can move it maybe an inch in the slots but once it's tightened down that's what cha got.

I just installed these brackets on my seat last week. Here are some pics. I know the brackets don't look like much, but they fit perfectly (if you order the correct version) and really do bring the seat lower by about 2.5"

Re: 67-72 Bench seat lowering brackets ??

Ill buy a set when they use at least the front 2 mounting bolts on the floor. I can see only being able to reach the one outside on the floor on the rear, but with there being 2 bolts only on the outside, I don't see how these will prevent lateral movement in the brackets when cornering, or if in a accident.

Just stumbled on this thread. Has anyone installed these mounts with an amp under the seat. Didn't know if there's enough room to fit anything under there.
